So my transfer takes place tomorrow (from starling).  Can I switch straight away from Lloyds to first direct? Or do I need to keep the Lloyds account open for a while?

You should be able to switch again straight away. However, I would downgrade the account to basic and open a second Lloyds current account (soft search only and open in seconds) and use that for the switch. You can keep the other one for future "dummy" curent accounts creations.

  • I've recieved my switch incentive before the switch has even taken place? It was meant to switch on the 10th, and the old account is still active. I'm confused

This is normal for Lloyds - they usually pay out before the switch completes. As the switch hasn't completed yet, your old account will still be active until everything completes on the 10th

I've received my switch bonus now, with the switch due to complete on Monday 13th. Result.

When I opened my Lloyd's account I managed to mistype my phone number and to correct they want me to go to a branch. Can't be bothered with that. Can't see anything in the terms that say the bonus is dependent on logging into online banking (cant login as they call you wheb setting up the service) so unless anyone knows differently I'm going to start a switch to RBS and assume the bonus has been paid as its longer than 3 days since the switch completed.

    Thanks

If I am not entitled to the switch bonus, at which point do they tell you?

I don’t recall having received a switch bonus before, however I am not really sure.

Well you should see the item on your statement as 'incentive'. They don't actually 'tell' you.
That is how you can check when/if you had a bonus in the past

if it doesn't appear , check you have 'ticked all the boxes' as it were with t&c s and contact them.
I can't do this switch because there was a date deadline but there is usually a switch team phone number- or there has been previously..

    To clarify

The only requirement the switch has is to switch to paid account, once received £200 I can downgrade right away to free account? No terms or conditions to this am assuming

Could I do two separate switchs in one go ? Started my NatWest one which finish switch next week, better to wait till that done ? Or can start Lloyds right away too ?  ( Got two separate banks for these)
