Nope, just need to upgrade your account to a qualifying one before you start to switch in another account.

Only exclusion is the usual one of not having received a switch incentive payment from Lloyds since April 2020.

Just have to upgrade to a silver  a/c  which requires £10 monthly fee
I guess you would be able to upgrade to silver, get the switch £200 then downgrade? So maybe £20 outlay for £200 bonus....

Pretty sure I have had a switch deal from them some time last year,- no, longer ago than I thought:  I have just found it- Sept 2020 so that's me out for the count!
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

September 2020 for me too - come on Lloyds, uodate your exclusion date  :)
  • I managed to get lucky with this, mine was October 2019! Though won't be keeping it cause I have the nationwide one and its just better but £200 is £200.

After trawling through old statements online, mine was also Oct 2019. I could have sworn that mine was later than that!

Also this one doesn’t require you to open a new account.  You can just upgrade then start the switch (then presumably downgrade once paid)

I've found lloyds are now quite hot on checking if you've had an account switch in and been rewarded previously. Unless they're just keeping a special eye on me

After spending over 10 hours trying to collaborate with Lloyds, with unfair fees and misinformation everywhere, I'd suggest going elsewhere and choosing another switching offer. Plus, their insurance accounts included in the switch offer are really bad value. I'd recommend waiting for a switch offer and going for either Nationwide FlexPlus or Virgin Money Club M. Customer service has been so much better, although this is just some advice.

Or alternately, switch to one of the accounts in the offer, trouser the £200, and downgrade it to a free account (or just close it).

Even better if you can use a spare doner current account you happen to have lying around.
