  • It's 6 days since this offer was announced on here but still no mention on the main site despite it being higher than top choice First Direct. Is there a catch to it that precludes it?

Possibly because it involves taking out a packaged bank account, which MSE don't want to push, and don't want to encourage people to use the upgrade-swtich-downgrade loophole?

MSE "pushed" the Halifax Rewards and the last Club Lloyds switch offers, are these not packaged accounts?

The fees for both of those are quite easily cancelled by paying in an amount (even internally) per month.

The Silver/Platinum accounts have no such feature.

I'm going to switch my new Co-op account. The one they've failed to switch a doner account into. Sooner I'm away from them the better.
Do you have to have activated your Co-op debit card before switching?
    No, you shouldn't need to
You just need the card because you quote part of the long number in the switch application.

Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

  • I tried to switch my Nationwide account to the Silver Lloyd’s account, but it said ‘This account can’t be switched at this time’. Any ideas why? I’m sure I didn’t see anything in the T&Cs about an exclusion for Nationwide…

You need to alter the switch completion date to the next day.

I've found lloyds are now quite hot on checking if you've had an account switch in and been rewarded previously. Unless they're just keeping a special eye on me

I tried my luck with the last Halifax offer about a month ago and switched a dummy account but I didn't get the bonus because I already had one after their cut off date for the last switch offer.
