Since when did Lloyds reintroduce the Silver Account?
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

How very disappointing as the 4 eligible accounts all charge a monthly fee.

Yes you can switch to one of their other current accounts - but you won't get any 200 squid.

No wonder MSE isn't bothering with it. Unless, as some people are saying, just wait until you get your money then switch again. I'm not wealthy but I just don't have the time or energy to be bothered.

I tried to switch my Nationwide account to the Silver Lloyd’s account, but it said ‘This account can’t be switched at this time’. Any ideas why? I’m sure I didn’t see anything in the T&Cs about an exclusion for Nationwide…
I'm also with Nationwide and I would advise you to stay there. They probably don't want you to switch because then you'll be paying a monthly fee. Well I don't pay one of those with my Nationwide account, don't know about you. . .

Check your details carefully, my switch from Nationwide was accepted without an issue. Due to complete next Wednesday.

I don’t know if you’re serious, but why would Nationwide be interested in whether you’ll be paying money for an account, or not? It’s none of their business and not a factor for which they can decline a switch.

You can downgrade to a free account the day after the switch completes. LBG make it quite easy, and all in all you’ll be spending 15-20 minutes on the entire process. If you have a donor account, that’s equivalent to a £600 hourly wage, not to be scoffed at.

You need to alter the switch completion date to the next day.
    Thank you - that worked!
