  • Is the change account section not currently working for anyone else? I’d like to ‘upgrade’ my club silver before month end now that my switch completed this morning, but I’m getting an apologetic message instead.

Have you chaps had your switch bonuses paid?

Yes, end of last week but I wanted to wait until my switch completed. I just tried again and it’s still not working so I’ll try tomorrow. Probs only about 30p pro rata if I’m charged for the account.

Now why would you want to enter into a debate on the telephone to down grade an account that you have only just opened???
Better to sit tight and downgrade online, that way no questions can/ will be asked.
If it costs a whole month's charges folk have still earned a decent welcome bonus.

  • So I've just created an account last night and put in my switch details. Got a text this morning saying I'm using an unnaranged overdraft?

How could I be in overdraft when I've only just created this account last night?
  • I upgraded my Club Lloyds account to Club Lloyds Silver thinking that would suffice to meet the free gift criteria.

What’s the simplest way to set up an external dummy account that I can use to switch into my new Club Lloyds Silver account to meet the gift criteria?

You need a full-on current account from a bank/BS that is a member of CASS. Quickest/easiest are probably Monzo, Starling or Metro.

If you care about such things, Monzo will only do a soft search,

I used Metro Bank for that. Metro Bank does soft search only, card arrived within 2 days and I switched on the same day. Not even bothered activating the card. Reward was paid after I think 5 days. on the day of the completion date I got a text from Lloyds saying switch complete and downgraded the account after.
