I already have a travel insurance policy and breakdown cover with other providers, so when I get to the question of do I have these then my answer is 'yes'. Despite them saying that they will only make a recommendation about whether this is or isn't the right account (i.e. won't tell me what to do), they then tell me that I can't open the account because I won't make use of the benefits. End of account opening process!
Not much point in me trying to persuade my mum to apply - outside the age range for the travel insurance, no car, borrows one of my old Nokia phones about 5 days a year.1 -
My Lloyds switch completed a few days ago and I immediately transferred the £200 incentive away to my main current account. I closed the silver account that I switched to on the same day as receiving the incentive. All done before the month's end so no fee to pay which is great

it says you may be able to do the switch later, has anybody done that?0 -

As long as the switch starts within the eligible offer period it doesn't matter how long after account opening it is2 -
I already have Nationwide Flexplus as my main bank account so don't want to switch from this.Looking at replies on this thread so far, are people successfully getting this done by opening a basic account elsewhere and switching from that?0

I'd simply downgrade to Classic or Club Lloyds when the switch was done and dusted, ideally avoiding the start of the month so no fee would be payable.1

As you say, no need to switch your main account, just open another account to use for the switch.
I opened a classic Lloyds account to switch to Nationwide, and have now switched that to Santander.
The only thing is to make sure you comply with the terms/conditions of the offer, i.e setting up the required direct debits, and any funding requirements for the new account, logging on to online banking within the timeframe specified.1 -

as soon as it was open it showed me my new acc details, and also had a link to "switch now" which I tried, but it had exactly the same result ‘This account can’t be switched at this time’
then I went to the offer main page https://www.lloydsbank.com/current-accounts/switch.html and started to switch to an existing account, I cant say for sure it's worked but it said the forms been submitted at least0 -
Is the change account section not currently working for anyone else? I’d like to ‘upgrade’ my club silver before month end now that my switch completed this morning, but I’m getting an apologetic message instead.0

Switch done. I have just tried to downgrade but get:
"something has gone wrong" try again later"
