Hi, I've really enjoyed doing my first crochet square. I've mastered the magic circle thanks to the second video from @Katiehound and also the slip knot. I've done up to day 22 and I'm loving the colours. If I do too much knitting my right shoulder gets painful whereas the crochet does not affect my shoulder. I'll keep the crochet squares for the weekend - it will also take ages sewing in all the ends so I'll do that as I go along.
Happy crafting xx ps my square is not perfect but I'm very happy with itDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Wow @greentiger that is a great stashbusting total for last year! Looking forward to seeing your makes this year.
@plumduff55, that crochet square is lovely. It will be interesting to see the colours change as it warms up.
My bargello tablet cover front is growing well. It is easy as the canvas has big holes, and the stitches cover 4 squares. I will do a different pattern on the back, need to see how much wool of each colour I have left, and pick a suitable stitch pattern2025 craft items finished 11/12

Ladies and gents - we have a robin! Almost... I am reluctant to do the little few stitches and then have to colour swap so I will wait until I have several bits at once to sew.
Also checked the Hobbycraft delivery - all fine and trying to not start something from the box!
Sat down last night and made husband a sticker for his car using my cricut that he had requested so thats done and just needs to go on now as well
@greentiger - well done on your totals! Thats amazing. I look forward to seeing what you make this year!
@plumduff55 - I love the squares. It will all look so pretty when it is put together. I have seen people knit or crochet them as lines as well which looks really effective too. Almost like an ombre effect
@old_fogey I wondered if the stitching had a name - bargello does look beautiful. I will try my best to resist looking up patterns for that!
Im also debating making my neighbour a hat as a thank you. She has a pallet bar in her garden that her daughter started in lockdown and didnt finish so she offered it to me for free to make some raised beds with. Last year she gave me a big bag of wool that she had started projects and not finished (sound familiar anyone?) and I gave her some veg from my garden. So as a thank you for the pallets I am thinking of using the wool she gave me to knit her a hat as she is a keen walker and does a fair few walking challenges. Just need to learn how to sew now!

@sammy_kaye18 he is stunning. Thank you for sharing. Such a cute face.
I have been tidying my sewing box today. Have sorted so much stuff for a haberdashery sale when we start our new craft group.I had a rather large tear in a duvet cover that I managed to patch with an old pillow case and some tiny beads that I had. I am extremely pleased with the outcome but it all looks a bit crinkly in the photo. Anyway it looks so much better than it did..

Hi, I was decluttering today and came across the crochet blanket I made more than 50 years ago. I'd forgotten I still had it. My great aunt taught me - she was an expert and made lace doilies. I only ever remember making this blanket and thought it was all trebles but I see that it has a mixture of stitches. I repaired it about 30 years ago as it was badly frayed. A couple of years ago I made a doll's pram blanket. I'm amazed that after all these years I'm doing another crochet blanket and enjoying it so much. Feeling very nostalgic.
Happy crafting xx ps needless to say I am keeping itDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

@plumduff55 that is an amazing piece of work. To do all that work when you were a beginner shows real commitment. I do a lot of crochet, I was given wool and a pattern for a throw for christmas but cant get the pattern to work! Have tried on 2 evenings and had to leave it! You have encouraged me to keep on trying. I will try earlier in the day next time.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Two tops almost finished - just hems and tidying. The black will look better once it’s on a body - it’s an off the shoulder top so hangs strangely on the hanger.
they just need to sit for an evening or two while I pluck up the courage to hem (least favourite job!)Chipping away at the craft stash one item at a time

I'd like to join too. I've tidied my stash(es) and am horrified at the amount of stuff I've hoarded!! 😂 Not really. I'm determined to do something useful and beautiful with my stuff. Do I start with the almost finished charm quilt I started before my kids came along. The oldest is 21 so probably a good place to start!!???5
