other than i've yet to read any reporting on climate change thats been balanced on causes. media reporting of science in general is awful (just look at how everything simultaneously causes and protects from cancer)
"media reporting of science" did you not mean the science ... sorry  <3

even then that was very annoying. we had experts every day on tv giving us really good info then half an hour later it was being cut into headlines and soundbites that were taken out of context and made really confusing. no wonder people could use 'the science' to justify doing basically anything they wanted to during the pandemic.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

,,, Ariarnia as you may be aware I had a couple of posts deleted (as were a couple of others) by the forum team for straying off topic ("media agenda", "pandemic/vaccination") ... but it's so easy considering the topic it's such a controversial subject.

A lot of flooding is to do with building on flood plains and large areas of buildings/roads that allow no drainage.
Along with old Victorian sewers not holding up with demand. Also many of these drains are blocked with fat, fag ends, plastic, tin cans and cardboard.
On top of that trees are cut down to make way for buildings. Trees can capture up to 30% of water fallen in an area, which is 30% less washed down the road into a river and out to sea.

Buildings and road's capture heat in their bricks, concrete and /or tarmac causing a urban heat effect.
Most notorious in Las Vegas where temperatures at night are up to 10°C warmer at night than a few miles down the road in the desert.

    sorry. back on topic!

we dont have air conditioning (and dont plan on getting it) so unfortunately being a really hot summer doesn't save us or cost us any money.

what makes the difference to our bills is how cold winter is as that's what decides how hard the boiler works and how many logs we get thru.

Doesn't take much for a thread to be derailed to be honest. Just a couple of people going back and forth into the distance😂

So many documentary's i watch will briefly mention that 'this land is actually sinking' Or 'its a flood plain' But then totally ignore that was said and spend 8min out of 10min in an hour long show saying that its actually CC and rising sea levels.

Interesting thread. Replies made me have a little read.  Not sure on forum rules but just wondering what the issue is here. Title says 2022 was warmest year on record and some note you have to consider how and why including where temperatures were taken.
    Or is it something else.

Can't have been that many thermometers around in 1884.
