I joined the NSD challenge at one time but found it far too competitive plus some weren’t counting grocery spends which is still a spend in my eyes. I count mine but don’t set a target, I prefer to stay within budget even if it means spending every day.

When I first started reading these diaries I thought it stood for non smoking day 🤣

We’ve had a totally lazy day today. Dh headed out this morning but the traffic was at a complete standstill so he turned around and went to get the bits from Mr T and came home. We finished watching a series we’d been watching on Netflex….think it was called Deceit….it was very good and then we watched Bank of Dave which was also great….a real feel good film.
I’d tidied everywhere yesterday and it was too snowy and icy to go out.
Dh had a look at the leccy and we have just short of £500 - not sure how much the bill will be but that should be a good chunk of it.

    January spends - £587.58

We watched Bank of Dave the other night and loved it. Coming from Lancashire originally the accent and the solicitors looks had me in stitches!  L

Will have to look that film up, thanks for the recommendation. I do love a feel good film.

  • I’ve not heard of The Bank of Dave either. I haven’t watched a film for a while, but I’m loving Happy Valley. Such a shame this is going to be the last series.

I loved the accents too although I thought some were more Yorkshire than Lancashire. Mmmmm I’m doubting myself now as I always thought Burnley was Lancs - maybe I’m wrong.
I went to SW this morning 1 1/2 loss…..I can do this 👍
We went to Spoons for breakfast afterwards and are taking Dh new toy out for a spin. I’ll mooch around the shops and kill some time whilst he’s off playing. Not sure where we’ll end up. Probably one of the seaside places an hour or so away.

Well done on weight loss.  I will check out the Bank of Dave film too.  A feel good film at this time of year is nothing to be sneezed at.

I don't bother with NSDs but we probably do have lots over the month.  I do one online food shop a week and one top up for fruit, veg, milk and bread.  Cars get filled up once a month. Otherwise I do just one personal shopping day a month for toiletries/books etc and  a hair appointment once every two months and nail appointment once a month. Sometimes there is a cafe spend on one of my walks but not much else. Do people count direct debits as spends?
