We had an amazing time. The first weekend flew by at dds. Great fun playing games with gks was had and a walk along the seafront a short drive from them was lovely. We had a great meal out too and watched eldest gdd in the Remembrance parade. We moved to London on Monday and the campsite was a short walk from the end of The Elizabeth line….the only drawback was my old fear of escalators which reared its ugly head…..we did end up searching out underground stations with lifts wherever we could, the rest of the time I hung onto Dh with my eyes closed 😳😵‍💫😳. We visited museums and Dh was in his element reading all the guff ( he usually gets dragged along if we go out the anyone else 😂😂 he likes to digest all the info)  I was happy to sit and rest whilst he read everything 👍
The shows were both amazing…..I’d be hard pushed choosing a favourite as they were both great in their own rights but totally different.
We had a trip to Greenwich where we got on a boat and travelled up and down the Thames for over 3 hours. We both had to pace ourselves much more than last time we visited and it was a good way to see some sights.
We travelled from London to Chester where we stayed overnight before taking Millie Motorhome for her check on Friday which she passed with flying colours. We’d half planned staying at Chester for the Christmas markets which started this weekend. We were both shattered though and happily came home after the check.
I’d booked the week off SW as I’d expected to still be away but I faced the scales this morning. I’d put 2 lb on but I expected more. I hadn’t even thought about it and I ate and drank anything and everything I wanted. I have struggled with my tummy the last few days so I knew I wasn’t eating properly and my walking wasn’t brilliant whilst we were away. It really brought home how eating the right sort of food is so important. It was quite scary and gave me the wake up call I needed.
Despite all my moans it was an amazing week which I’ll remember for a long time….although I’m in no rush to face the underground any time soon 😂😂
Ds is coming around tomorrow for roast pork 😁
On Monday I intend to sort all my finances out. Pay the credit cards as everything should have filtered through by then. I was getting a nervous twitch tapping my card as I went through gates at underground stations and not knowing how much was being taken. The lady in the ticket office assured me the most that would be taken in a day was £11 something and it worked out cheaper than a daily pass of £15. I also want to transfer an account that matured whilst we were away to a different one - need to do some research to decide which one. I’ll transfer any interest to my current account to offset the spends of the last week 👍
Im off to catch up on diaries now - it might take me a while.

No Beanie we didn’t visit the Royal Hospital. We got the train to Greenwich and walked up the hill to the observatory- we did see the Meridian line and I offered to take Dh into the museum - we didn’t have that much time there so Dh decided £36 for both of us and not enough time to see everything wasn’t worth it. By this time I was struggling with all the standing around looking at things so we went back down to the town so we could sit for something to eat and that’s where we found the water taxi. I bought a rover ticket and Dh got his for half price as he has a bus pass. We travelled to Putney and back just as dusk was falling so it was light when we set off and dark when we arrived back to Greenwich so we saw lots of the sights in daylight and lit up at night. It was lovely - wish I’d have known about the water taxi earlier in the trip as we’d have used it rather than the underground hopping on and off at various places. I’d hate to have to use the tube regularly…..it is an amazing form of transport but THOSE ESCALATORS 😳😳😳 We found a lovely pub back at Greenwich before we ventured back to the campsite. We did visit The V&A, Science and Natural History Museum. We saw ABBA Voyage and Phantom of the Opera. It was a great trip.

Had a very lazy weekend. I’ve stuck to SW as if I’ve got superglue to my backside 😂😂😂😂 now I  just need to do it for longer than a day. I’m visiting my brother and going out with a friend in the week and probably taking my sil out for her birthday so the prospects of me sticking to it look slim 😂😂😂
Just waiting for ds to come around. Don’t think we’ll be venturing out for a walk as it’s tippling down. I’ve had a lovely morning in the kitchen sorting dinner out….it seems a long time since I’ve done any cooking. Shattered now though even though I’ve been sitting down peeling the veg 👍 Paying the price of gallivanting last week.

@milann - I am fine with escalators now, but as a child was very wary of stepping onto those long 'downwards' ones on the underground. My Mum went to college in London & Dad knew it very well as had been stationed nearby so we were taken in for a day trip every half term & school holiday. I loved going, but Dad would have me by the hand & be leaping onto those escalators so I'd have no choice but to leap on as well before I was mentally ready & it made me nervous of them. As an adult, I just make sure I step onto escalators carefully in my own time but am absolutely fine with them. However, my initially slight aversion to lifts has increased massively throughout adulthood because I have difficulty being shut into small spaces, so I avoid those completely & can't actually remember the last time I used one, even if the alternative is to get my unfit little self up multiple flights of stairs.
Sometimes a cooking day in a cosy kitchen is both nicely productive & relaxing. I especially like to listen to audiobooks while I am having a kitchen day.

I used to hate lifts. At college we were on the 5th floor and I used to walk up rather than use the lift however as I now need to use them to change platforms when travelling by train as i cant manage the stairs in the time I have to change trains I have had to get over it.

Funny how were all bothered by different things. Lifts don’t worry me in the slightest. I was rather pleased when we visited the science museum as there was a whole display on phobias. Think it made Dh understand a little more as he doesn’t seem worried by anything as far as I know.
I’ve just been to aqua aerobics, the first time for a while. I was so stiff. I’m just watching a catch up Corrie and then I need to do some serious number crunching and bank transfers.
