A busy couple of days. SIL has been visited for her birthday, we’re taking her out for a ride somewhere tomorrow. We were going to take her to a garden centre with a BIG Christmas display but her daughter has already taken her. Depending on the weather we might ride through the illuminations as she isn’t up to walking these days. I visited my brother yesterday and met a friend in the big city today. So a lovely few days. I actually saw the coat I’ve been mooning over in the actual flesh…..a different colour than the one I had my eye on but I liked it. I really wanted it before my trip to London so I’m not sure how much use I’ll get from a ‘best coat’ now. I did try it on but I’d need petite which they didn’t have.
I called to Asd@ on my way home to get some meat which I needed and it gave me a £4 reward on my bonus card 😁  a lovely spag Bol was made when I got in and now I think it’s Saturday as this used to be the day I made it when everyone was home and I was working.
I paid my cc in full and did a bit of shuffling cash from an account that matured when we were away. I had intended putting the majority in an ISA yesterday but decided to hold off a few days to see what might transpire after today’s announcements.
It feels really late so an early night on the cards for me.

A new bank account has been set up to replace the one that matured whilst we were away. We visited a nearby town so I could go in a branch to set it up….I wanted to make sure the cash went where it was supposed to be with no agro. The interest from the old account transferred to my current account and the credit card covering birthday celebrations has been paid in full. 😃
Ds took Dh out to a fancy curry place in a town an hour away to have a tasting menu for his birthday. I wouldn’t have appreciated it at all so stayed at home watching Strictly in peace 😃 it was very much enjoyed by them both and looked amazing…would have been way too spicy for me 🤢
My I pad is on the way out as it keeps having an intermittent flicker occur plus there are a couple of dark patches where the lights have a fault. It’s still usable but at over 5 years old is not at its best. I’ve had an eye on prices but in no mad rush to buy one. I was aiming to after Christmas. Anyway c@stc@ had £50 off over the weekend….I decided I was going to succumb and pay my cc off over 2 months instead of in full. I got to the till and Dh paid for it 😃😃😃 I told him to put it away until Christmas….I will get it set up before Christmas though as I’d feel embarrassed opening such a big present in front of others. We take our presents and open them at dds after Father Christmas has delivered them of course 🎅🏼
I need to start thinking about Christmas now. I think the birthdays have been distracting me. I have no idea what to get anyone this year though. I do have something for both the gks but need some bits to go with them. Other than that I haven’t a clue. I have cut right back and told my friend and sil we need to stop buying the each other’s grandchildren. We never see them and don’t know their interests as they’re getting older. I do feel a bit like the Grinch but I’m not doing it anymore. If I see them I will treat them. It didn’t go down well with my sil but it is what it is.
Had a lazy weekend as I’ve been really tired - the busy few eeeks have caught up with me. The plan this week is pre Christmas cleaning and making the Christmas cake. I’m very late this year. If I’m ready I’ll put the decorations up next weekend - if not I’ll put them up once I’ve finished the cleaning. First step though is get up and go to aqua aerobics with my friend. Then once  home get my behind in gear.

I went to aqua but was really tired and my heart wasn’t in it today. I called for a cuppa at my friends on the way home.
I set to and started cleaning my oven….it’s now coated in pride of the oven and I’m waiting for the magic to happen. I think I’m going to leave it overnight and continue in the morning. I had played with the idea of getting someone in as it’s a job I really hate  but last time I had a quote over a year ago it was best part of £150…..that’s nearly the price of the lovely coat. Decision was made and I’ll find a way of getting up and down from the floor whilst cleaning it. It might not be as good as I used to clean it but it’ll be good enough 😃👍

I did my oven yesterday nd ended up having to crawl to the bottom of the stairs so I could use them to get off my knees so I sympathise with you.

Lady holly 😂 I’m expecting something similar to your experience. Today I knelt on a cushion and then crawled to the dining room chair to get up 😵‍💫 That was the easy bit…..wiping the cleaning substance on. The fun will start rinsing it off tomorrow 😳 The things we do to save a Bob or three 👍😂

I use my air fryer most of the time now Beanie…and as you say it’s just so easy to clean....just use the oven when we’re all at home or I’m having a cooking session. It shows how long it is since I’ve cleaned it. The smaller oven and grill are now sparkling but the main oven has had another coat of oven magic and the magic powers needed another crack at the whip to get it up to standard 😳😚 I’d have been embarrassed to get somebody in cleaning it. But I suspect they’ll have seen much worse than mine. So money and my embarrassment saved…..especially since I already had the cleaning stuff in. The contents of my crockery cupboard are in the dishwasher and the cupboard has been wiped out. I’ll do my pan cupboard next but I’m just having a cuppa and a rest. I suppose I could battle in the shed to get the steam cleaner out but it’s too cold out there and I haven’t a clue where it is and I don’t fancy doing shed tetra in the 🥶 I plan to finish the kitchen this week and get my Christmas cakes made 😀😀 I started doing the kitchen a while ago then I got covid and it all came to a stop as we were away afterwards. I do like to deep clean my cupboards before Christmas so I can get any piece of crockery or fancy Christmas plate out knowing they won’t be shrouded in dust.
I’m getting slightly excited as I go to see Donny with my friend tomorrow. Hope he doesn’t disappoint 😀😀 The plan is to go to the restaurant at the gym as I have a £50 restaurant voucher for recommending the friend I’m going with to the gym where she is having swimming lessons…she is doing really well and hopefully will be swimming before the year is out. Then we will saunter over to the tram station to get the tram to the arena…..maybe a mooch around the Christmas markets first depending on the weather.  I have to admit to being slightly nervous as it is where the terrorist bomb went off several years ago….I suspect it’ll be safer than most now though as they’ve already and the worse done there and should be vigilant. It’ll be interesting to see the age of the audience…..I was amazed at the age range when we went to see AbbaVoyage.
