Have a great time at Donny’s concert. I’m sure he’ll put on a good show, he’s had enough practice 🤣 I was looking on the website of the arena I’m going to on Thursday and security is very tight, no bags or only tiny ones and everyone is scanned on the way in.

I’m shattered but quite pleased with the last couple of day’s effort. My cooker is gleaming and  the 2 corner cupboards are Christmas ready. I can’t believe how long it takes me these days to do things. I’d have previously had the whole kitchen done in a day and a half including the cooker, fridge and every cupboard and surface. At least it’s getting done slowly. It used to be one of my school holiday jobs. I’ve got no routine since I finished work as I keep getting better offers and have to pace myself 😂😂😂 I did the fridge freezer a few weeks ago so that doesn’t need tackling. If I can face it I’ll do my wall units tomorrow morning before heading out.
I need to decide what presents to buy for people. I’ve messaged Dd for ideas for herself and her Dh. She hasn’t come back with anything yet. I’m going out with ds one day next week so I’ll get some ideas from him. I usually buy a small emergency turkey just in case anything happens to stop us going to dds house at Christmas…..I can’t fit another thing in my freezer so that won’t be happening……maybe I can buy one and leave it at ds house….right I’m off because I’m rambling 😂😂😂😂

Emergency turkey reminds me of Margo’s spare goose in the Good Life Christmas Special 😆

    Emergency turkey 😂

A story of emergency turkey in my family.

When one of my cousins was newly married their mum took a turkey in the boot of their car on Christmas Day in case there had been any cooking mishap.
    A true story.
Still makes me laugh 30 odd years later.
Sadly neither of them are still with us.

I’ve always bought an emergency turkey and frozen veg as a back up measure should the car break down or somebody is ill last minute….something that defrosts overnight…..it is the source of much mickey taking I’m afraid 😂😂😂😂 I did have the last laugh when Christmas travelling was cancelled during covid though 👍 Love the story of the frozen turkey being taken in case of cookery mishaps Beanie….did she also take ice lolly sticks. I need to look up emergency goose and The Good Life SA 👍
I had a lovely day yesterday. A relaxed morning followed by a taxi to the gym where we ate in the restaurant courtesy of vouchers I received for recommending my friend to the gym. We then pottered a couple of minute walk to the tram stop which took us to the centre of town. We went around some of the Christmas markets….the same route I took with a different friend last week. A little mooch around MandS. We tried some clothes on as we did when we were teenagers 😂😂😂 then found a little pub I must have walked past many times….if I do go into a pub in town it’s usually a bigger one a few doors down but that one was heaving. I’ll pass the big one in favour of the little one though as the drinks seemed much more reasonable. Then it was Donny….he was AMAZING. He sang songs from every era of his career. He went out into the audience - climbing over chairs to get to people. He was tbh much better than I expected. My only niggle was it was very cold in the arena and I’d layered up as I expected it chilly. It was -3 outside though 🥶 There were a lot of unsold seats - is that a reflection on the economic climate or Donny 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ This made the atmosphere slightly less ‘electric’ than when I’ve seen other artists there. It was still a great day - reliving our teenage years. It is quite a soleless area though in comparison to the theatres I’ve visited recently. Think I prefer the old theatres and more intimate settings. It feels like a cheap day though as the tickets were paid for a while ago. I spent less than £20 😁😁
My throat is rubbish again this morning- I’m like a toad croaking…..I’ve been like this since I had covid - if I used my voice it just gives in. Don’t suppose singing helped last night….but it had to be done.

Cleaning the oven is one job I won't do. We pay someone to do it just before Christmas every year. Luckily we have a local lad who is very cheap and does a brilliant job. £75 for a double oven.

    Love the emergency turkey.

That’s a good price RS for a double oven. Mine is a range style with a double oven, grill and 5 rings a couple of years ago I was quoted £140 😳
I’ve  just been to aqua. I do enjoy it and can move much better in the water. I need to keep doing it 😁👍
