I’m resisting the urge to redo my bedroom. I had new curtains last year after a mishap in the washing machine  with my previous curtains. I was gutted when I ruined the blue curtains and didn’t find any to replace them that really floated my boat. I settled on yellow and grey ones but they’re really depressing and don’t do anything for me at all. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with them but I’m not overjoyed with them.  Yesterday when Dh was here we went to our local JL where he was collecting a parcel. The plan was to have a walk at a nearby beauty spot but the sudden shower had other ideas for us…..anyway we spent a rather pleasant hour or so mooching around the shop . This is a dangerous habit 😳🤔😂 We passed a bedroom set up. I fell in love with it. It was a multi colour bedding set up and had a beautiful picture above it…..all my favourite colours together in one place. It all went together beautifully- even Dh said he liked it. I thought no more of it but this  little set up keeps popping into my head.
I did a bit of research and the picture is a Klimt ranging from the hundred to two hundreds in JL. Since I knew the artist I did a bit of Googling and found canvasses of said picture circa £30….the bedding isn’t in stock at my shop but JL will notify when it is. BUT the problem is the curtains- we have 2 big windows in the bedrooms and I’m not sure I can justify more curtains- the ones I have just won’t go. I’m tempted to buy some dye and attempt dying them but there are 4 big curtains and the chances of them all coming out in the same shade worries me….They won’t fit my downstairs windows either. I really don’t know what to do. I’m going to see how I feel when we get back from London. I could ask for the canvas for Christmas- it’s just the blooming curtains. The room doesn’t need decorating as it was only done last year…..

I’m still pondering Beanie….the duvet colour is still out of stock so depending whether or not it comes back could well  be the decider.
I’ve just baked a couple of lemon drizzle cakes and a Bakewell Tart….dhs favourites - he’ll much prefer those to a fancy iced cake. The gks are making and decorating a cake at weekend for him. He can take one of the lemon cakes into work tomorrow.
I nipped out as I wanted some B@stick glue…..the trim on the card I finished  yesterday keeps coming undone. I’ve had it in ages and the stickiness is no more. Couldn’t get any…..neither could I get any decent birthday  cards for the gks and I can’t be bothered making them… Christmas cards everywhere. I don’t really want to end up in town but I might need to.

  • That is a quandary about the curtains isn't it - I can understand you feeling that it's not a good use of funds spending on another set right now, with the old ones still being pretty new. Have you checked whether a basic set of plain coloured ones might do the trick at a price that would be more budget friendly than the ones that match the duvet set? (Assuming there ARE ones that match the duvet set!)

EH the duvet set is fairly brightly coloured and busy so I’d choose some plain ones - colour would be decided after seeing the duvet (should I decide to get it 🤔) in the room. The light shade and my cushions would all fit in…..if it was 1 small window I’d go for it it’s just the fact that there are 2 - one of which is a big bay 😳
I baked and made a big pan of veggie pasta sauce yesterday using the contents of my fridge and it’s already frozen for when we get home. I haven’t stood as long in the kitchen for a while. The upshot is I can hardly put my foot n the floor today and my ankle kept me awake most of last night. I’m shattered but I’ve got so much to do….well actually not as much as I thought now ive actually stopped to think about it….but it feels like a lot. I’m just taking some painkillers so that I can make the bed up with freshly washed linen and then finish the ironing and getting everything ready to go in the van.
I’ve been spending money like it’s going out of fashion but it is what it is and I’ll do some serious number crunching when we get back home.
I’m still not sure if we’re going tomorrow or early Friday morning as the places we wanted to visit have closed for winter.
Anyway Dh loved his card, the tickets to the shows and all the  baking I did yesterday so all my efforts have been worth it 😃
Not sure if I’ll get chance to check into my diary so will probably update when we get back.
Bye for now and take care 👍👍
