I did walk into town. It was beautifully sunny so I thought the fresh air might blow the cobwebs off. I visited a couple of jewellers for gdd present. The first one was taking the Micky me thinks…..no way was my gdd getting earrings at the price they were selling them for - no matter how much I love her. The 2nd cheap and cheerful jewellery shop had a pair at a reasonable price - not the same quality but it won’t be the end of the world should she loose them as I’m sure she will in time 😂😂
I nipped to h@bbycraft as I wanted some glue to finish the card I’m making for Dh. I did succumb to a coffee as I needed a rest at this stage of the game. Then into Asd@ to top up my Christmas savings card. I bought a packet of bacon and some eggs. Not much to carry but I quickly realised there was no way I could walk home. I ventured to the temporary bus station as the old one has been demolished as they are in the process of making a new one complete with parkland above it. There wasn’t a bus person to be seen as I had no idea where to get my bus. I did eventually manage to find a bus dropping some folk off and the driver was very helpful. The bus I wanted was 5 minutes further back the road where I’d just passed 😡 this used to be used for alighting only 😡😡 I wasn’t impressed. After waiting half an hour I gave in and rand Dh to see what time he expected to finish work….he came and picked me up 😍 he has his uses. I was totally done in. He made tea too 👏👏👏 it was only pinging some pre made chilli and bolognaise I’d taken from the freezer and cooking a bit of rice but I was very pleased he did it. I should have gone in the car 😵💫 hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I ended up going up to watch Corrie in bed last night….I was so tired after my trip into town. I had a patchy night sleep with some really vivid dreams and have woken up so stiff this morning. I’ve not managed to get onto the aqua classes recently and I’m sure it’s made a difference or maybe it’s the colder weather or I’m just getting older and more decrepit than I care to admit 😵💫. So Sunday morning I’m going to book for the Monday we get home from our travels…if you’re not on the app at the crack of dawn 8 days before the class there’s not much chance of getting on.Dh has nipped out so I want to get on and make a decoupage card of a Motorhome with a backdrop of bits of maps which include the places we’ve visited. Hopefully it’ll turn out ok. One of my purchases at C@stc@ over the weekend was a folding table which is much more stable than the one we already have…one of those things you don’t know you need until you see it 😂😂 I’ll use it in the gks room for my crafts and it can come in Millie when we go away. 👍 It was £20 so pretty good value…(we could have managed with the previous table truth be known though 😏)January spends - £587.581

I have virtually finished making the card for Dh. Just need it to dry before I can do the last bit. I’m not impressed with the gloss finish of the splodge I bought in town at the big craft store yesterday. It was recommended for the job and states gloss finish but it’s not a patch on my old thin varnish I had for paper crafts. Unfortunately my old stuff had gone thick and gloopy and I couldn’t find the same to replace it. I’m sure Dh will like it though….well as much as any man appreciates a card (apologies for the over generalisation there😏😳) 😂😂😂😂 I’m sure he’ll appreciate the cake much more….I’m only doing a lemon drizzle which is his favourite and Dd and gks are making another for weekend. I’d contemplated making a Motorhome cake but since we’re away and Dh isn’t keen on icing I’m sure the lemon drizzle will be appreciated much more.
Weve been trying to decide where to stay en route to dds on Thursday night. Everywhere we fancied has now closed until spring. So we will keep our eye on the weather forecast and if it’s as horrendous as it is today we’ll stay at home Thursday and just head to dds on Friday. We’re not home until the following weekend so would rather stay warm and dry at home rather than traipse around a town in the cold, wind and rain 👍
I need to make an appointment at the bank for when we arrive home as my saving account has matured and I want to open another fixed year one. The interest will pay for our gallivanting 😂 so it all feels like a free trip 👍January spends - £587.581 -

Mr F loves a homemade birthday card. I made one featuring a geeky sci-fi interest of his one year, back when we were trying hard to pay off the remnants of a car loan & were cutting back costs wherever we could. I just used collage & after that, it became an.annual tradition. He's kept them all. I'm mulling over ideas for the next one, which I shall need to start before too long.

A bit out of context, but can I tell you please! Today, whilst looking for a recipe for a fruit loaf where you soak the fruit in tea (which I didn't find), I came across a letter from my dad to my mum from 1950 - a few months before they married - and he's telling her beautifully that he misses her so much, despite having seen her just an hour before. It was a wonderful letter. They are both quick-stepping across Heaven's ballroom now. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?2
