Milann’s quest for a new me in 23

I went out with Dh this morning and jumped out at the dentist. All he asked if I was feeling well and double checked I was past 5 days from contacting covid. Anyway 3 fillings and a numb mouth which is now at the tingling getting back to normal stage I’m all set for another 6 months. I had a lovely walk home past the reservoirs (small lakes that once served local factories- now incorporated into the local park) I was going to treat myself to a coffee but decided to come home as my mouth was very numb. No point splashing out £3+ for a drink I’d probably dribble everywhere 😂😂and much better to keep the cash in my purse. 👍 I picked up a couple of books to entertain eldest bookworm gdd from a mini book swap set up during covid. I want to pop a couple more books in to replace the ones I’ve taken over the next couple of days. Not many plans for today. I’m tired and feel as if I’m starting with a runny head cold….wonder if it’s linked to covid ? No cash spent. 😀😀

milann said:Positive again……not sure at all where the 5 days come into the equation. I can only presume someone has decided you don’t shed as many germs after the 5 days. 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️I have been downstairs in the same room from yesterday as Dh but he’s naturally sits at one end I sit at the other end -more than 6 ft between us - he’s been out at work until 6.30 and I’ve been going up to bed about 8.
I'm with you on selling online by the way - I just find it all ridiculously stressful and as I have the luxury of not needing to do it, I don't!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

EH - that has made me feel much better…..knowing I’m not the only one who doesn’t like the idea of t’internet selling 😳😳 I am in the fortunate position of not ‘having’ to do it to make ends meet. It’s my contribution to charity 👍👍
I have done a couple of sewing repair jobs that I’ve been putting off for a long time so my halo is shining. I also put a film on - don’t know why I bother as it was half way through again when I woke up and I ended up rewinding it 😴😴😴. It was quite a nice lighthearted film though to while away a couple of hours whilst I was knitting. I’ve very nearly finished the back of my cardigan 😀 I want to get on with my Christmas wreath over the next few days. I’ve had a tidy up and hoover downstairs…..I’ve not ventured into the gks bedroom of doom 😂😂😂it’s waited this long so another couple of days won’t hurt 👍January spends - £587.581 -
Another one who barely sells.
Too much faff I find.

I was enjoying a cuppa and my breakfast sitting by my patio doors admiring the pansies I’d planted in tubs a couple of weeks ago THEN hows this for barefaced cheek…….a squirrel looked straight at me and proceeded to dig the bulbs from under the said pansies. I knocked on the window and it just looked at me….by the time I’d got out there - not 1 but 2 of them working in conjunction (or so it seemed ) in a bid to eat the most expensive squirrel food going. I chased them and they moved a couple of yards - staring at me in disgust and most put out that I’d disturbed their looting 😡😡 They did eventually saunter to the fence where they sat and watched me for a good 5 minutes. I have had a look around the garden and several places have been ransacked. Bet they couldn’t believe their luck 500 bulbs for squirrel dinner 😂😂😂😂 it was quite amusing to watch and I am all for wildlife in the garden but not when they’re munching through my £90 worth of bulbs. I have resorted to lying canes over the top of the flower tubs but I’m not convinced now they have the taste. I’ve sprinkled curry powder around to deter them….bet I have the only curry loving squirrels around 😂😂😂😂😂
I had a voucher from JLewis for a couple of drinks and cakes which run out tomorrow so myself and Dh went to our local one - we shared a toastie and side of chips and had the freebie cakes and drinks. Lovely lunch for £8. It was very quiet and we sat in a corner away from everyone. It was good to get out. I am shattered now though.
I had trouble getting on this site this morning- was it my end or was the site down?January spends - £587.581 -

I bit the bullet and paid all my cc off. It was an expensive month and I was very tempted to pay it in 2 halves but I promised myself when I was becoming debt free that I would clear it every month no matter what. So I’m feeling quite proud of myself as I kept to that promise to myself. I know next month will also be a costly one as I’m taking Dh away for his 70th….that said I’ve already paid for the theatre tickets. I have a saving account maturing so the interest will transfer to my current account to pay for any surplus and a few Christmas treats….so it’s like free money as not long ago the interest wouldn’t have paid for much more than a coffee 😏 never mind extra treats. I need to send my dentist bill off for a refund from Simply Healthy……not point having it and not sending the receipts off.
Tomorrow I plan for a visit to the garden centre as Dh wants to get some craft paint for his railway buildings and we can get a free cuppa from the loyalty scheme…again I’ll keep my distance from others. I’m not going to Slimming World as it’s a very crowded group.
After our lovely lunch out, neither of us are particularly hungry for the salmon we were planning to have so we’re just having a snack and the salmon will keep until tomorrow.January spends - £587.582 -
Not a lot happening here today. Painting of the models for the garden railway has resumed. We nipped to B&Q for some tester pots of masonary paint but the range of colours has diminished greatly and the price has jumped up. We haven’t actually bought any for a long time though so I’m not surprised.
We also nipped to the garden centre to redeem a free drink from my loyalty card…..we sat in a quiet corner again. Didn’t want to miss out on October’s freebie. That’s about as exciting as it gets in Milanland. Shattered now so heading off to bed. I haven’t re tested for covid but will do on Monday before I see a friend who is a carer for a lady with dementia. I won’t see her if I’m positive again but I really shouldn’t be by then 🤞🤞January spends - £587.581 -
I had a squirrel pinch a biscuit from me in the garden. I was having a coffee outside and went back inside to get something and it stole my biscuit while I was gone 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
