A bit out of context, but can I tell you please! Today, whilst looking for a recipe for a fruit loaf where you soak the fruit in tea (which I didn't find), I came across a letter from my dad to my mum from 1950 - a few months before they married - and he's telling her beautifully that he misses her so much, despite having seen her just an hour before. It was a wonderful letter. They are both quick-stepping across Heaven's ballroom now.
    What a lovely memory.

Sorry to butt into your diary Milann but i have just finished reading it from the start. You have certainly been through the mill in the last few years but are dealing with your problems in such a positive way.

Satchmo1 what a lovely thing to find. It’s worth hanging on to such lovely memories. I started making a scrapbook many moons ago with photos and family stories and memorabilia that could be passed down the generations. I haven’t actually done anything with it for several years now….you’ve spurred me on to get it out again. Thankyou.
LadyHolly all are welcome. I bet you’ve slept well at night after reading all my drivel 😂😂😂 I’m a firm believer of making the most of the deals life gives you….sometimes easier said than done…😏
We did our usual Friday morning routine of SW for me and Dh going to U3A about half a mile from where I go. We met up and had a cheap and cheerful spoons breakfast afterwards. I do wonder why I’m bothering with SW as I’d put another 1lb on….I had a good laugh with some friends though 😂
Dh phoned his sister and had intended taking her out for lunch. Anyway long story short - she wasn’t feeling up to going out. We said we’d call around after a trip to big shopping mall which is very close to her house….Dh needed some jeans and jumpers - part of his birthday present. Anyway we  said we’d go and get some shopping  for her. By the time we got there about 3 ish she had improved a lot and was up for a trip to a local carvery and then across the road to the shopping mall to choose her own shopping in MandS. It was an absolute eye opener to me at the way some folk shop 😳😳😳😳 and the prices she paid for the convenience of pre made food 😳😳😳 She wanted to get Dh a jumper for his birthday so managed a trip to men’s department where we went straight to the jumpers and he chose one the same as he’d already bought in a different colour. There’s no way she’d have managed on her own as she needed to hang onto Dh all the time. It’s getting quite worrisome.
By the time I got home just before 9pm I was more than ready to fall into bed in a heap 😂😂😂😂 She is hard work on so many levels.
Much money was spent on clothes for Dh but he rarely buys clothes…..he must have had his old jeans years and is usually fairly indifferent to clothes so it was nice to see him enthused…
Right  I’d better get a move on. We want to sort the van out today ready for our trip away, but taking only what is absolutely necessary as we are having a detour on our way home so it can have its hab check. Can’t believe we’ve had Millie 2 years already 👍

Wow that’s gone fast! Where is time going to!

I used to really enjoy the WW classes for the social aspect. It’s a shame they’ve gone mostly virtual since Covid. I think it’s worth it to keep going as it keeps your mind focused. Years ago there were two women at my WW class and one week they’d lose and the next gain. They did say although they wouldn’t be getting to goal any day soon, without the accountability they would be much larger than they were.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

SA that is me to a T 😂😂😂😂 I’d have put a couple more stone on….not just 1 if I hadn’t carried on going to SW. I really do need to keep my eye on it though…..it was brought home this morning when I received a letter from the hospital summing up the conversation I had with the orthopaedic doctor a couple of weeks ago. My ankle is shot and they can’t do the usual op on it….so basically it’s down to me to keep it the best I can…..carrying extra weight isn’t helping it.
Dh is making a spinach and paneer curry which will go in the freezer to take to dds next week….we’re having a curry night on Friday which were all contributing to 👍He has requested a corned beef stew for tea which will do us a few nights this week. I don’t think I’ve made one for about a year. I’m planning an hour with my friend this afternoon so I can keep out of his way whilst he’s cooking 😂😂😂 that’s my excuse anyway 👍

Mmmmm….just been around to my friends…a glass of wine later and we’d put the world to rights. All is good in both our worlds now. Walked in to the lovely smell of stew 👍👍👍 hopefully it’ll taste as good as it smells.
£ 15 spent in Morrison’s- I can’t believe the difference in the chicken I bought at C@stc@ last week at £3.99 to the one at M’s today at £6.50 and it’s about the size of a pigeon 😳😳😳

Time flies when you are having fun.

Won't be long before we have had Milo for 3 years 😲

Our hab check is booked for February but now it is out of warranty we are considering cancelling it and not having it done. We know the one thing that isn't working already 🙄

Same old stuff happening here…..Ds came around yesterday. I went to U3A singing this morning- I can’t sing but really do enjoy it. My throat is so sore now….it hasn’t been 100% since covid….I think my voice would have gone completely as it often did had I still been working in school.
My friend has just popped in so we had lunch together which was lovely.
This afternoon I want to wrap all the birthday presents for gks that we will take with us as I won’t be seeing them again before their birthdays….I’ve got Dh some chocolates to open on his actual birthday as he’s having the show tickets and I’ve  bought him some jeans and jumpers. Once we get home and all the birthday stuff is out of the way I can think about Christmas.
Tomorrow I’ll bake Dh a birthday cake and get all the washing and ironing up to date then on Wednesday I’ll pack the van ready for the off on Thursday 😁
