Ww we’re having a couple of nights in Edinburgh then a night at The Kelpies before working our way up to Skye and back down again calling a train shop for Dh and maybe calling to Dundee to see a friend then a night at Loch Leven and finally a couple of nights in the Borders. I’ve left it in Dh capable hands with my only stipulation being we stay near Loch Leven somewhere. I had wanted to stay at a bnb run by someone I used to work with for a night on Skye but they only take bookings for a minimum of 2 nights - we can have over a week in Millie for the price of 2 nights.
The van is virtually packed. We’ve been doing bits between us since weekend. I just want to sort the fridge out tomorrow and throw the bedding in the washer. Today I’ve done lots of bitty jobs…..cleaned the cutlery drawer and cupboards that store food to get rid of any crumbs. Finished tidying and cleaned the bathroom. So not a lot to do tomorrow. I’m at my craft group tomorrow and depending what time I wake up I might visit a different SW en route. I’m hoping I might get chance to get the sewing machine out and finish altering a dress I started altering  ages ago. I’m out tomorrow evening too. A  nursery I used to work at is celebrating its  50th anniversary and all old staff have been invited. I’m hoping to see some old friends, it’ll be interesting to see the changes.

I can’t wait to hear all about it. I don’t really know much about the lower down bit of Scotland. The kelpies pictures I’ve seen, all lit up, look amazing. I have a vague recollection of driving past them in daylight, but I could be making that up!
I hope you have a lovely evening out.

I’ve decided not to go to the craft group and spend the morning finishing my dress instead. It’s a navy’s day red flowery dress which had quite a sticky out frill at the bottom. I loved the top of the dress but the frill had to go. I’ve been looking for a lace style trim to insertnear the bottom of it. The only one I’d seen was in JL at £6 per metre so I bought a white one in The R@nge at 65p a metre and navy dye for £1.99. I needed 2 metes so a nice little saving there…..providing it looks ok when I’ve finished it 🤞

Hope you're having a wonderful time Milann - and that the wind levels are staying just high enough to ward off the worst of the midges! (Which were, at time, FEROCIOUS while we were up there!)

Just arrived home. It was an interesting trip. We saw some beautiful scenery, I met some old friends and we learned just what we like and what we’re not keen on when it comes to road trips 😂😂. Next time we will adjust our travels to accommodate our likes 👍 of which there were many. All part of the learning curve of life 😀 We loved the contrast between Edinburgh and Skye…both amazing places in their own rights. As were the Cairngorms with its funicular railway. Dh had his fix of steam trains and train shops 😂
The midges were out in force at Glenfinnan Viaduct. I doused myself liberally in jungle strength midge repellent but Dh decided the midges didn’t like him and he’d be ok….oh how wrong was he….he was devoured by them. I got off very lightly. He should have taken the hint when the carpark attendant wore the equivalent of a beekeepers outfit 😂 They were out in force on Skye too but once we travelled back down there weren’t as many. The single track roads  were a lot better than I expected. Better than the single track roads in Cornwall as you could see the cars coming towards you in the distance. I didn’t wear the dresses I’d taken after all….I wasn’t risking any midges taking advantage of my bare legs 😳😵‍💫😂
We’re back to reality already with the washing machine working overtime.
I’ll catch up on diaries over the next few days….I’ll also do some number crunching and Dh is going to sort my phone….I’ve fallen out big time with GaffGiff. I put extra money on in my 2nd week and although it was acknowledged it hasn’t gone to my phone 😡 I’ve been trying to sort it but some of the codes they want were at home. Thankfully it stopped working after I’d met my friend on Monday - making arrangements would have been tricky without my phone. I want to research a new provider as the customer service left a lot to be desired 😡 which is a shame as I’ve been quite happy with them for several years…..
