So much for a 9am start 😏 Dh was putting the bags I’d packed into Millie…he hadn’t noticed the cat had left a little deposit 💩 by the side of the van door. He was in and out of the van…..stepped in it - trod in it walked the length of the van. He realised as he was coming into the house and fell on the steps. He is fine but it took the wind out of his sails for half an hour 😳 So I’ve spent the last half hour cleaning 💩🙀💩🙀 I’m not best pleased. Anyway onwards and upwards…..we’re offski….Bye 😀

We got to our destination a little later than we’d planned on Friday but had a lovely weekend. We spent a lot of the time sitting either in a cafe or pub eating, drinking and watching some brave (or mad) folk going down the rapids in the river by the side of the pub where we were sitting. We went to the train show saw some friends but I think for the first time ever neither of us bought anything. We’d planned going back after we’d eaten in the town but it was such a beautiful afternoon and we had a great seat in the pub we stayed put. I was having trouble with my ankle and had horrible hot red patches on my legs which appear at random times 😡 so we kept walking to a minimum. It was still a great weekend though.
Ds came to us on Sunday and we had bacon butties for breakfast then headed to an aqueduct nearby. A great piece of engineering. We did walk over the aqueduct  and back….actually we walked nearly half way over then met another wheelchair coming in the opposite direction, so rather than one of the occupants swimming ds turned around to let the lady we met continue  and we tried again. Luckily we didn’t meet any chairs or pushchairs that couldn’t pass. From there we went to a NT place for an hour for an ice cream and then headed to town famous for its Roman walls on our way home, where ds treated us to tea. We did really well weather wise. It just began it rain as we went for tea.
I was quite proud of myself today. I actually drove to my friends, she lives in the next county to me and although I’ve been many times - Dh always drives on the motorway and I don’t do motorways. I don’t actually think it took that much longer. I think that’s the furthest I’ve driven since before I broke my arm several years ago. 😀
I got my cc bill today and it was a big one…..but actually as big as I expected. It is what it is. I have enough to pay it but I can’t continue spending like that every month. Time to take stock and remember now we’re going out in Millie I can’t keep spending as if I only go on holiday once a year 😏 same goes for eating.
Tomorrow I need to nip into town to return some slippers I’d bought for Dh on my way home from friends today, which were too small. His others went straight in the bin after he fell on Friday. I want to have a swim at the gym and do some pottering in the garden too.

That sounds a great trip milann. It will be quite hard to not spend when you are going to all the lovely places with special eateries to try 😖 I love bridges, aqueducts and viaducts….such amazing engineering.
Do you know what causes the ankle blotches? Are they sore?

Glad that you had a good time.
    Ankle blotches look really red.
    Are they sore?

The blotches are raised and sore on the first day and very hot. One doc said he thought they were bleeds under the skin and didn’t seem bothered. Another doc had bloods tested but nothing obvious showed. They’re just a faint darker mark under my skin now.
I went to town today and got Dh some different slippers. I had a mooch around for trousers as I’m pretty fed up of wearing black leggings. I’m having trouble finding any that go over my stoma as it’s in a different place to the previous one. I didn’t have any luck but most of the clothes shops in town have long since closed. I think I need a trip to the big city when I get back from my next jaunt. If I don’t get any I’ll get the sewing machine out. I need to finish putting some maternity bands on some linen trousers I can’t wear anymore.
The only spend today were Dh slippers and £1.20 for a cuppa on the market. I could have come home but it was so nice looking around town on my own.
I’ve tried a new recipe tonight. Proper cooking 😂😂😂 I’ve blitzed chicken herbs and lemon and wrapped them in aubergine with a tomato and herb sauce. I’ve not cooked anything different for ages. I’m experimenting with the new air fryer 😳

I had a rubbish night last night - however Dh slept like a baby….a baby hippo - talk about snoring. I came down at 12 went back at 1 - he was still driving them home - I finally went back up at 2 and all was quiet on the western front….then the light morning woke me up at 5. I was not impressed. I did however listen to some tapes so was totally relaxed and did fall straight to sleep at 2.
My chicken wrapped in aubergine was delicious and there’s enough for tomorrow and probably a portion for the freezer too. However I’m not going to faff around rolling minced chicken in aubergine next time and covering with a tomato sauce but will make the chicken into little meat balls or patties and put the aubergine in with the tomato sauce, it’ll have all the same flavours.
I had a very bad week weight wise last week. I’d weighed at home and put 5 of the 7 I’d lost back on. I just thought what’s the point….my friends passing away had really got to me. However I’ve only got 2 lb to go to get back where I was…..that’s doable even with going away. My head is back in the right space. Me sitting eating chocolate and cake won’t bring him back and I need to keep as healthy as I can 👍 My halo has been shining today….I need to keep it up 😁
