Milann’s quest for a new me in 23

Cranky we saw several of the musical birds but didn’t follow the trail as such. We had a lovely day and the rain kept off. The only problem was the Turkish restaurant we wanted to go to, which is our absolute favourite had a police cordon around it. Apparently there had been some sort of incident overnight in the street outside. We had a mooch around the fan zone, watched a bit of the coronation on the big screens, had a bit of a walk around town soaking in the atmosphere, then ended up in one of the museums. I was very impressed with the organisation and security. It was fairly busy but not crowded and a great atmosphere, I can imagine it will be heaving over the next week or so though.I’d planned on baking a cake before my friends arrive tomorrow but we decided to nip into the C@stc@ and buy one…trouble was everyone must have been in buying for their celebrations. All they had left were muffins which I bought. Then all I need to do is cook some meat and assemble salads etc tomorrow. A nice easy buffet 😁 £12 spent on muffins and some cereal which was on offer in there. Ds bought us dinner of pizza 👍
I’m planning a very lazy day on Monday as I’m totally shattered. I ended up coming downstairs at 2 this morning as I couldn’t sleep. I think the events with the relative yesterday we’re playing on my mind. Dh was also snoring for England. I went back to bed about 4 am.Just watched the coronation highlights. The weather was certainly better where I was. I felt sorry for all those people out there.January spends - £587.583 -

Friends have been and gone. Too much food made and too much eaten. We did have a lovely day. The sun was shining so the we put the train on for the children who loved playing with it. I am absolutely done in now though. I’ve no intention of leaving the house tomorrow. Food will be eat ups. There wasn’t a lot of wastage….just a bit of cheese and tomato pizza which I was very disappointed in from M&S. The uneaten muffins have been chopped into 1/4s and ds has taken 8 back to freeze in his freezer as he has more space than I do. They are so big it’s ridiculous…but they are very nice.
I nipped to Mr T this morning for some bread….£60 later. It wasn’t all for today, but I went shopping without a list and ended up throwing all sorts in my basket. I need some serious restraint back, do some number crunching 😳 and get some good habits back.

Satchmo we often visit on either side of the river for a walk or mooch around the town. We love a particular Turkish restaurant on the street with lots of restaurants that do a great mid day meal. I live an hour or so away.
The funeral was today and everything went well. We had a lovely meal afterwards at a pub we used to go to. I didn’t think I’d be hungry but I was. Back home now and at a bit of a loss what to do with myself. I wore some old boots that look better with the dress I wore than my usually comfy ones, they weren’t high, had about an 1/2 inch heel, but I can’t get my inserts in them. My ankle is the size of a football now, it isn’t particularly sore. I only had them on half a day and was sitting down for most of it.
im going to the craft club tomorrow morning then I want a quick tidy around. I still haven’t done any number crunching so need to do that. It was a spendy day as I put cash toward the charity that helped my friend. I hate deciding how much to put into these collections- how do you put a value on a good friend. I decided to give what I thought flowers would cost - much better than getting flowers.January spends - £587.582 -

I had a swim yesterday but won't be going today. I didn't do much just a few lengths and the day before a very gentle'getting started' 30 minute gym programme. I'm so tired today. I'll continue pottering in the garden. I have a little stool to sit on with a cushion on and it's just the right height for the raised beds we have. I have my minuscule hedge cutter and want to tickle the box hedge (it's only about 6 inches high) I'm so cheesed off as I'm full of ideas of things I want to do…..what's that saying about the mind being willing but the body has different ideas.
I was rather pleased with pots I planted seeds into yesterday. I hope I've made a cat proof string web to deter them using the pots in which I have planted lettuce, spinach, oak choi and radish 😀 Beanie and other cat lovers out there close your ears……I might have to invest in a water pistol if 🙀 decide to 💩 in them. I've sprinkled curry powder around the bases. Disclaimer…..I wouldn't do anything to hurt said cats just want to deter them.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1200 -

I went to the craft group this morning. I really enjoyed it. It was changed to card making which is one of my favourites. Much better than making Pom Pom cats, which was he scheduled activity. It passed very quickly. £2.20 out of my incidental money well spent.January spends - £587.583
