New Mortgage, New Marriage, New Allotment - Oh My!

Well the national trust didn't happen, my poor niece and sister in law came down with a vomiting bug
and since my lodger was away for the weekend I decided to do a 'Big Clean' which is really sorting and doing projects ideally in one room but normally all over the house so it's utter chaos.
Really what got done was the kitchen, I vinyl lined and fully sorted 2 drawers including 'the drawer' removed all the stored stuff from down the side of the fridge and homed it, moved all the plants upstairs, fully cleaned and i mean windows, above the blinds, I had the drawer out of the washing machine you name it. So that took a full 2 days and now i'm stressing about all the other rooms and jobs I didn't do.
Seriously does anyone have an off switch they are trying to rehome because once I get started, I can't seem to stop.
Should have 2 freebie collections this evening and I have to wind down or I'll be shot for work tomorrow. Plus I'm out Monday and Tuesday evening.#19 Make £2025 in 2025 £8.32/£2025"Remember not to do too many things at once" said me to herself.Mortgage Free Wannabe #25 2025 OP £500/£60002 -
Easier said than done I know, but celebrate all you have done, instead of beating yourself up for all the things that also need doing. It sounds like you did a very thorough job in the kitchen. Would it help to set a realistic time slot for tackling each job or area in your diary? I am terrible for underestimating how much time a job takes and how much chaos results when having a sort out.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

@Baileys_Babe one of my friends taught me to make Ta Da! lists instead of To Do lists. Where you write all the things you did rather then all the things you were going to do, that way you get to see how much you achieved even if it wasn't what you planned.
Last year I go so bad at underestimating I had my friend who is lodging with me section my lists, she has an almost perfect idea of how long something is likely to take.#19 Make £2025 in 2025 £8.32/£2025"Remember not to do too many things at once" said me to herself.Mortgage Free Wannabe #25 2025 OP £500/£60001 -
Always so busy
too busy to remember to update my diary.
Since my birthday is on the new tax year that's how I like to run my years in general, April to April. Hence I am now busy figuring out how to maximise the amount I'm saving towards overpaying the mortgage. I managed the full whack in February so I'm off the hook until next February (2026) when it resets.
My 1 year ISA is Maturing on April 17th so that's nice.
Monzo I can get a better rate of interest with the perks account but it's £7 a month. I worked it out and I'll still end up with £54 more interest. Plus the perks are pretty good, It's the free railcard I'd like, annoyingly mine doesn't run out till December 25.
Premium Bonds - actually won £75 this month
Co-op got a nice surprise my triple access saver doesn't mature till October but they paid last years interest on April 4th, so that's another £400 earning interest for me till October
It's been slow going this year, my mother want's to downsize but as she's 70 and asthmatic, guess who gets to clean out the loft. I get about an eighth done on a weekend and that usually includes a tip run and bringing a bag of stuff home to put on vinted. This month i have demanded to remain in my home, considering i work full time and live by myself being away all weekend means i'm always playing catch up after a weekend at hers.
I've got a lot of house DIY to do for myself starting with changing my letter box, an Amazon driver broke it and I can't mend it do I'll have to change the whole thing. Also have carpet to rip up but that might need to wait until easter.
Next job, contact the builder - ready to begin the chaos

Well I got my £50 from Nationwide yesterday
so that went straight in the mortgage overpayment fund and I got a £5 sale on vinted which will go in the post today. Just keep dripping it in.
Tonight I have to clean the bathroom and do the grout, I've bought a tub of The Pink Stuff to see if it helps because last time it was took so much scrubbing.#19 Make £2025 in 2025 £8.32/£2025"Remember not to do too many things at once" said me to herself.Mortgage Free Wannabe #25 2025 OP £500/£60003 -
Pretty sure I just got scammed via Vinted.
Sold a nightdress of mine BNWOT, the buyer raised a significantly not as described on me, sent a picture of a bus floor and stated in the description that it didn't have a "new feel".
I've come to the conclusion the buyer is either a scammer or actually just a really weird person. Since it was £2 I refunded them and blocked them so they can't see my items or buy from me again. I don't fancy risking going through this with something more expensive. Has really put me off though and I'd gotten into a good selling rhythm#19 Make £2025 in 2025 £8.32/£2025"Remember not to do too many things at once" said me to herself.Mortgage Free Wannabe #25 2025 OP £500/£60001 -
Every time I think about re-starting Vinted I read a story like that and think nah! Sorry to read about it thou.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -
