Gosh time flies and I have been missing in action indeed.
Well the work trip was fine the trains were brilliant and I enjoyed seeing everyone even though I felt so rubbish with my cold. I did not have a drink and the food was super nice and mostly on expenses. No freebie coffee Octo is not as good now or I have not sussed what time to get the codes. I also did make my meeting when I got back.
The money got moved but what a palava and I lost another £3.5K due to the pound taking a beating just as I was about to transfer. Thanks Israel and Iran. I had to borrow a bit more of my mum but that's ok and on its way tomorrow so it can be transferred. My mum is paying hers in today so all good.
DG went to a conference Friday and got a signature for me for a document I needed to transfer the commercial property to my name. Shame exBIL is not responding it would have been lovely to have that money from him but I cannot really push it any more.
Got the removal quote from the other firm and it had gone up by £2K so it was pretty much the same and the one I really liked so went with them. Paid deposit on CC and spent an hour doing customs forms and documents yesterday so that is well on its way.
Saturday we did decluttering and I started on Freegle and got rid of all bar 1 thing. Did sell something for £10 in Marketplace but the other two items people say yes and arrange to get and then nothing. I might just stick it on Freegle soon. There are only 4 poxes of my stuff left now and quite a bit of DGs but it is a lot more manageable and I feel better about it. DG donated 4 family heirloom tea sets to an animal shelter plus some towels so that was great to get that out of the way. I signed up for one of those send us your vintage stuff and we will buy it boxes so hopefully get a few pennies. DG has a box for Ebay so lets hope she gets that done soon.
Sorted the documents for the car so be transferred and insured turns out insurance ends anyway in mid Aug so that's handy.
Our buyers are querying why they have to pay £1500 for our hot tub now saying they thought it was included. In hindsight and had we had an estate agent we should have added something to the price they offered and said incl the hot tub but we did not. It is 5 years old, new price today £11.5K just been serviced. I have two people who wishes to buy it but it will cost them to get a crane out to move it over the house so rather the buyers got it. DG just wants to give it to them but we are leaving everything else incl washing machine, freezer, wardrobes, chest of draws and a lot more. Most bought when we moved in. I have replied back via our solicitor so lets we what happens but this is where we are disadvantaged of not having an agent. We shall see what happens. We have also asked them to confirm the completion date as we now know we cannot be out until 4pm on the Friday they want as the date. We cannot move sooner so it is what it is or gets moved to the week after. We can change the removal date up to 10 days before that is really it so needs to get it sorted.
Right that is it lets get to work before taking the cat to the vets I think it is time to have the rest of his teeth out sadly.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Plan to move to Denmark for FIRE by Autumn 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

Got an answer re buying a second plot behind our house and it is 816 m2 and hold your horses that works out at the pricey sum of £2800. No there is not a 0 missing. I don't really want to buy it right now but the house will get revalued for Council tax purposes so the tax will go up in line with what we have just paid for it which is more than double of what the old valuation for tax said. As it is so cheap the tax might not rise too much and it might be worth getting it. I have asked our lawyers so we shall see. 816 m2 is 3.14 x a tennis court. That is just the second plot with the first one you are looking at 1/2 acre of garden which is a lot even if we keep one as a field. Anyway back to work.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I'd always be tempted if I had a chance at land
1 - they aren't making it any more as the saying goes so if you want more later on it might not be available
2 - if its yours you control what can happen with it. It might safeguard a view, be more garden, put a garden room or something on it but mainly it stops somebody else building something you don't want. Leave it to grow wild, have it as grass so you only need to cut it every couple of weeks, rent it to somebody so you get money in etc etc. Lots of options for under 3grand22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈⭐ Never save something for a special occasion. Thanks daisy_1571 all of those are very valid it is the "land tax" and the calculations for council tax that concerns me. They have recalculated their whole system and the rates can go up a lot so I think we are going to say thanks for the information but hold off until we are there and then see. There is no advantage of doing it together with this sale anyway.
But we have exchanged so just need to pay the money over now but my mums bank had some issues so it has not arrived yet. Deadline to pay is 19th anyway so there is time.
It does feel kind of strange now having exchanged and on my way to own a property in my home country. At one point my dream post mortgage freedom was to own a summerhouse over there back when I was still with my exDH. Strange how life can change me thinking I would be with him and visiting Denmark on holidays or staying there slightly longer to having a DG now DW and actually moving over there permanently.
If I had bought one it would actually have been a good investment but would I really have used it as we tend to stay with family anyway. I have also asked the Danish Tax authority how I can pay my taxes for the house they are saying to fill in a form for doing temp work in Denmark I really do not want to do that! I am planned to say I am moving permanently to Denmark September which will be after this job ends so it will be a lot neater and clearer that way. I am allowed to stay for 3 months anyway so all should be good.
Heard back from the garden person she does not think she should do the main design as she is no qualified but I am not so sure I think she is exactly what I am looking for. I will have a think and reply to her later.
Anyway must get some work done.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Morning going to be a hot one today so will definitely need to take advantage of having a pool today. Not actually been in it yet this year but we have been quite busy. Hoping to do a bit of decluttering tonight with getting some boxes down from the loft I really want to get it all done but when it is so hot it is not much fun.
We have our 5am golf game tomorrow and aqua in the evening so there wont be much time then and our friends with the lovely cockapoo is coming on Friday but staying in a nearby hotel. Time is racing so fast but I kind of feel in control at the moment. With the move we need to sort the insurances out and I need to complete that tax form. I also need to ask if I tick yes to a all year house if I am not moving in for a month. Anyway my manager is off sick again today so my late meeting has got cancelled which is very nice actually. I am still a bit behind but this takes the pressure off.
In money saving news there are none paying out a lot at the moment and feeling very poor until the house is sold. We are both actually a bit like have we done the right thing but later this afternoon we have a meeting about the website and then that should be up and running and will hopefully bring in some customers. In money wasting news there are some. Got the money back from MS at the hotel turns out they do not pay for the drinks package which was 2 x £124. Well it was not an optional extra but it had said that you cannot book this type of break so I should have looked at it properly. Well it was still a new break but a bit more expensive than intended.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Just come back from a 5am round of golf for Summer Solstice and it great. We had a fry up afterwards and I spoke to a friend who is going to help with the catering for the party were having so that is a relief. We wont need professional caterers although I would pay her something. So feels like that is getting sorted she will also come shopping with me from the local supermarket so that is easy. Need to buy booze too so that is ok.
Feels like we are getting on track a little bit, £5 item sold on marketplace yesterday so one thing out of the house. Did go in the pool yesterday evening rather than declutter but hope to do a bit more today obviously have been up since 4am so might flag later.
Anyway best do some work.Save £12k in 25 No 49

I am loving this hot weather it is great finally to be able to use that pool in the garden. We spent a good few hours just floating about it was great. Maybe we should buy the extra land just so we can put a pool on it lol.
Did not get any decluttering down from the loft but I did list two things on Vinted and we also got all of DGs stuff listed on Ebay. The pile for Vinted Cash Cow is growing but nothing will be done today as we have friends coming over with their dog and there will be drinking. I do not think I will drink a lot after that MS weekend OMG not for me.
I know we still have so much to do but we are getting there I just need to tell myself that. My hcp has gone up by a whole shot something must have come off my record so I do not mind gives me an extra shot for next time. We are playing on Sunday but most of the day really is for decluttering.
I do still need to do those Danish tax forms and post my land registry form off at the post office. Anyway best go water the garden before it gets too hot.

Lovely weekend that heat was just something else! Had a nice time Friday with our friends got a take away from a local place that we have used before and never lets us down. It was actually really good value too and we have just about finished the leftovers. Our friends paid half so it was even more economical not that we expected them to do that.
We just enjoyed the pool and sat out until we went to bed it was one of those still lovely evenings we do not get that many off. Saturday they came over after they had checked out of their hotel and then they went home about lunchtime. It was lovely seeing them and the dog she was so good and so lovely to be around. The cats were not that impressed. Ginger gave it loads of lip and pandy cat was scared.
Sunday we really tackled the loft and did really well. I think all my stuff has now been looked through and all the joint stuff is done. DG did a load and did get rid of a load. I have that car full ready for the tip today at 4pm plus loads gone on freegle or is ready for the charity shop is they take any. DG has a ton to ebay but it is actually worth money so worth doing although it might end up at the charity shop. No one really collects china these days and it is all ornaments. There is a lot of silver trinkets too and they will be sold obviously.
Did also do some golf and DG did not have a melt down lol. Been paid so can do some shuffling I do need to send some money to Denmark as I have the lawyers bill to pay still, Not sure how much to send but DG did lend me some money so should really send that. Need to check cheapest way to send it, guess that will be my life now for a while.
Now it is work and a few bits needs doing like getting a birthday card made for my sister she is 50 very soon.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Got my sisters card done and Moonpig can deliver it. Also managed to get everything listed on Ebay. DG did actually have a lot of nice stuff especially silver trinkets. They are not my style but worth quite a bit. She did list one candle holder for auction and some offered to buy it for £100. Before we could accept he had used the buy it now and it was gone for £50 which was what DG had set it for. We cancelled the order as now we know. Would have been happy with £100 but it is obviously worth something to someone. Also listed a load of coins I do not think they are really worth that much but some are the more rare 50p olympic ones. We shall see otherwise we have a load of change lol. The loft is looking so much better I am starting to feel positive as we got rid of a whole car load at the tip and also managed to get most things gone on Freegle. We will get there but decluttering is really hard.
Booked the cat in for his teeth op obviously not cheap but cheaper than getting it done in Denmark plus we know and trust the vet.
Ordered a left handed golf club that was £55. Do I really need it not sure but Dg wanted one so made sense for me to get one as well at the same time. Right I have got quite a few meetings and then it is gym later.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Did make gym both of us and today my body is aching a lot not much fun.
Got allocated more work yesterday actually quite a bit so we shall see how I get to get away in September but it was not busy so had to be done. I might know a little bit more after a meeting this afternoon but then again I might now.
Got confirmation that we have signed up to electricity at the new house in Denmark so that is good to know I need to set up and account etc but all good. They have agile prices so you need to check when you put your washing on etc. Something new to get used to but it should all be on an app.
No further with any Ebay sales which is a bit of a shame I had forgotten how frustrating it is over Vinted. I am happy to slash the prices next time around hopefully it will go then or it can go to charity. The ones on my ebay are mainly coins and they can be spent if nothing else.
Grey and dull day here but at least the garden will get a bit of a break. Right best get back to work.Save £12k in 25 No 49
