Thanks vandafc and Daisy_1571 I hope we can get it all together in time feels like the pressure is on and I could actually have done without being away this weekend but that as you know was booked last October so it is what it is.

I did get into my new bank account so I will transfer something over to see how it works but that is at least up and running. Money from S&S ISA should move across to me by Monday so I can then shift it to DK.

Did go to the gym last night DG did not go but I am pleased I went. Tonight I am sewing with the new friend it is a lot to be out every night this week but I can do it. DG will meet our other friend and they will sort the car out that is staying in this country.

Got the quote back from the removal company and it is £1300 more than the others but I did really like them and I think they are more likely to stick with the price and add for extras. It sounded like the others were just subcontracting. I will have to have a think and we need to exchange date confirmed obviously. Sometimes you have to pay more but we are MSE on here obviously.

I feel I am now in constant thinking mode of all the things that needs to be done but once I have a list I think that will help a lot. I wish we had longer but then again I am also excited about starting my new lift. I think I will need to take leave from my work for the move and then end of August onwards work from Denmark then either I will get redundancy or I will have to resign and give 1 months notice. I can get a VPN others in the organisation has worked from abroad and I can keep quiet about it. Not quite what I should be doing I know but its a potential 6 months pay I could get and it is a stupid rule anyway as I do not need to access any of the secure data.

I have now got a quote for all the insurances we need in Denmark incl travel insurance and accident insurance so that is all good. Will be quite a bit of money but I can always drop some for next year but better to have them in place.

I have also sent a quick message to an IT support company local to where the house is in Denmark and hopefully they can help us get internet set up etc.

That is it for now I need to get back to work as per usual have a lovely Wednesday.

    1. Log into Danish Bank account and check all is ok done
    2. Message my bank to see if there are any limits for transfer to abroad.
    3. Get my S&S cashed in, calling the rubbish finance company who I can now finally part with (happy dance that is) sent message and filled in form so that will now be actioned
    4. Cash out Premium Bonds done I will fill it back up as soon as my house is sold
    5. Withdraw my cash ISA and move to new Danish Account. (might not need to do this because of Bank of Mom)
    6. Get my mum to move the deposit over now which is about £9K got account but does not need to be done until 19/6
    7. Get my mum to transfer what is left over to meet the asking price plus any taxes and fees I am not sure about. She is aware but wants to wait as long as possible to sell her investments.
    8. Need to decide which removal company to go with and book it.
    9. Make a massive list for everything regarding the move. started and it can be shared between us

Aren’t restrictions usually to do with tax requirements of the employer and employee when working abroad? You’d need to check whether you are paying the right amount of tax and if you are required to tell HMRC/Danish tax authorities.

Thanks QueenJess do you mean about my employer not letting me work from abroad? I always thought it was for cyber security reasons. We have asked the Danish association re tax in general but it is really complicated. From my understanding any taxed paid in the UK will be taken into account when they work out the Danish one. I think it will be over 60% tax over there unfortunately but I really do not know 100%.

Finished the sewing project at new friends house going back Monday so will teach me patch work. I do want to start on the dress pattern. I have some orange fabric I have had for years and years which I could use but it might be tricky to sew with but I just want to make one to check the size anyway. Ideally I want to make the dress in a denim fabric so might just buy some and make it in that. Obviously I do not really have time to sew but it makes me happy and takes my mind off all the other stuff going on.

We are ticking things off the big to do list and my list is not doing too badly either. We might do some work on the move tomorrow before we head off to the mystery shop hotel. OUr buyers are cat sitting DG has got them going in 3 times a day which is total overkill but I was not involved. She has also spoken to the friend who is taking the car off us so that is set in motion. We need to register it in her name and she will do the insurance. It is technically DGs car so I will let her get on with it. Itm ight sound non MSE to give your car away but it is 12 years old so not got huge value but hiring cars each time we come back or reply on public transport is just too difficult and costly so this should work out ideal. Obviously if it suddenly needs lots of work we might have to rethink.

Got some good advice from someone I have just spoken to re my job situation so really pleased about this. There are two scenarios one more ideal than the other so lets see what happens at least I will know more before I move.

Rain here so have to dry clothes inside which is really annoying but needs must as I need some to wear over the weekend.

Yes, it was about working abroad. I really am not familiar with the rules, but I think the tax rules are different depending on where you are working from and how long you intend to be there for. I believe the company is required to inform HMRC though.

I know the company my husband works for decided it was all too hard to deal with and so banned everyone from ever working abroad!

Congrats on the house buying and the last 2 Pb wins
    How exciting !
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks QueenJess that could actually be exactly that for tax purposes well it would max be a month so hopefully they would not even notice. Yes LWAP good to finally have some wins I gather you are doing well too. Mine are all cashed out now so wont get anything until after the house is through over here.

Back from the Mystery Shop weekend it was good but on Thursday we got a message from a mutual friend that a friend had passed away suddenly at 54. Well deal diary readers those of you who has read my diary for years may remember she was the one that was my manager when I met Dg and we had such a great friendship the 3 of us until she got very jealous of DG and I. She said and did some stupid things and we did not tell her about our relationship which really hurt her but to be fair we told no one. We did try to see her but she refused for years afterwards until finally I think 3 years ago she came up here with some other friends but things were no the same. I do in hindsight really wish we had worked through it you just never know how long you have. So that is my second close friend who has died at 54 within a year of each other. The first one had cancer in her 20's which then returned and she battled for about a year then died. This second one felt ill went to hospital found she was riddled with cancer and died a week later. She was posting on facebook right up to 3 days before she died you could not tell from the photos she was ill. She did hurt me a lot but she was also a fantastic friend at the time and I shall miss her greatly and regret never sorting this out we both do DG and I.

Anyway here I am its 11am and I need to do some work plus write up the MS today. We had a fab time and it is going to be glowing review.

congratulations on moving so much forwards.  Sorry about your friend. It is so sobering how little time we may have left.   Makes me focus more on goals for the year.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Wow tg, I remember that time in your life.  Its really sad but that saying about friends for a reason, season or lifetime can help.  You were close for a time, perhaps the reason was to allow you and dg to slowly get to know each other and fall in love.  Its sad she did not react well to your relationship however remember the happy times and dont dwell too much on the most recent get together.

(I've heard medical folk say your 50s are like passing through sniper alley!  Anything you get then can be quite aggressive, anything you get once you are older tends to be slower growing and often things you live with rather than something that will carry you off!  I've got another 9 months to go!!  Im planning on keeping dodging the snipers but mr daisy has a list of electronic places and my nicknames to update just in case.  Theres been a few regular posters on here over the years that just completely dissappear and from time to time a name comes to mind and you wonder what happened, would be nice to have an update by a family member but its so anonymous on many online places family don't always know.)

Thanks Watty and Daisy_1571. It does make you think when someone so young goes indeed. I loved what you wrote Daisy maybe she did just come into my life at that point to do two things. Make me move on with my career (step into management) and also make me leave exDH. The fact that I met DG as well is an added bonus so yes even though this was all in the space of just over 2 years then it was over I will go to the funeral as I know their friends and the family plus she meant a lot even if we kind of fell out.

I did not get a lot of work done yesterday I was just to tired. I did go and sew with my new friend and she helped me to patchwork which was actually really good fun. I do need to get a cutter and a cutting board but I can get that in Denmark. Submitted my MS report I am sure I will get lots of comments and need to add more but I haver done a lot hope it passes. Look forward to getting the money back so I can pay off my CC a bit.

We have a meeting with the Danish lawyers it will be interesting a whole new process. My PB money are ready to use to send over but I am speaking to MoneyC@rp on Friday to see what rate they offer so we can send the big amount over to my new account in Denmark would be nice if it arrived before Friday obviously.

Cannot remember if I said I "won" a price on Postcode lottery I chose an eye mask. Should arrive today. Off to a work thing tomorrow back Thursday. Best get on making my slimfast before the meeting.

Got my prize from Post code lottery its ok but nothing special. You can always use an eye mask.

We had the meeting with the Danish lawyers she is really competent and on it so that is good. She has already emailed the estate agent so we can get the conveyancing wrapped up. She does not think there will be time to get the first right of refusal sorted but we can try. Getting so real now and I hope the money arrives Friday so it can all be moved on Monday that should give it enough time to reach my Danish account in plenty of time. The test sum I sent over has arrived so that the one my mum sent.

Need to pack for tomorrow we now do not need to take laptops so that is quite handy I can get a lot in a very small rucksack. I am looking forward to my freebie Costa or Greggs. We need to bring our own lunch (that means buy it on expenses obviously.
