Morning all.Didn’t get around to posting yesterday as we were out all morning and then I was really busy.Didn’t get any painting done yesterday as I had to pick up the dog and cat’s flea treatment from the vets and exchange some faulty fairy lights in BnQ while we were down that way. Then on the way back went to Mr T and then a couple of local shops. That epic trip took 4 hours! BnQ are selling off their Christmas stuff and I got a set of fairy lights like big bulbs which will do for the garden all year round. Mr SA attached them to the fence in the afternoon and they look great.Mr SA is keeping a low profile at the moment after Friday’s beer battle although he had a snipe at me for buying some wine with 25% off when I’ve already got plenty. Reminded him I won’t have to buy any for a good while once the offer has finished and, unlike him with his beer, I don’t plan to drink more just because it’s on offer 😐 It’s a shame I can’t stock up on his beer while it’s also on offer but it takes up a lot of space now I have to hide it.I really must finish the painting today. It shouldn’t take long as there’s only 2 half walls to do and the skirting board. Then I need to give the house a good clean as cleaning has fallen by the wayside this weekend.I still have some Christmas decorations to put up. I want to decorate the banister but Mr SA keeps hanging his coats up on the end bit which kind of spoils the effect. He has two coat racks in the cupboard under the stairs but can’t be bothered to use them.Looking forward to my day off on Tuesday. Providing it’s not pouring with rain I’m going to a suburb just outside the city centre that has a good selection of shops, it will be somewhere different to mooch round and I’m hoping to finally finish off the Christmas shopping. I only have a couple of bits to get now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

The painting is done and everything is back in the room including pictures on the wall 🥳 Just waiting for the blind a week tomorrow.I’m absolutely shattered though and the bottom of my back is hurting.Took the dog on the park in between coats of paint. Did a massive litter pick as not been over there since Wednesday.Vacuumed and steam scrubbed all the floors. Dusted and polished.Roasted a butternut squash with red onion and red pepper. Most is going into a batch of soup for work lunches and the rest in a risotto for tonight’s dinner. While I had a paintbrush in my hand and a pot of white paint I patched up a bit of the bathroom ceiling where the paint had chipped off over the shower. We only had the bathroom painted last year and I wonder if either DD or Mr SA used the shower too soon before it had dried. It looks a lot better now anyway.Thoroughly washed out the paintbrushes, roller and tray. Quite impressed with myself for doing this as I usually just throw them away afterwards.Had a nice soak in the bath with a face pack and candles.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Afternoon all, happy Monday.
Worked in the office this morning, finishing up at home.
My back was fine when I woke up but it seemed a very long walk to work and back after the very hectic past 3 days.
Stopped off at Lid! on the way home, Mr SA met me on his scooter as I picked up the free sack of potatoes.
Monday finance check has been done and spreadsheet reconciled. An oddment of £3.77 has gone to the Christmas 2026 pot. DD paid her board so that's gone to the holiday pot. Couldn't pay the cc balance as the system was down. Will try again on Wednesday when the next finance check is due.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work, Rick's advent challenge day 15 and strength training at 7.15. I've decided to not do the live aerobics sessions at 6pm on Mondays unless I need the steps. When I'm walking to/from work there's no need to do it and it will free up 30 minutes to catch up on housework. I've got behind with Rick's challenge as the longer ones were on days I'd already done a lot of walking or was decorating. Today's is only 14 minutes so I think I can manage that 😆
Tonight's dinner is scampi, sweet potato wedges and steamed veg.

Morning all.
My secret day off today and I’m sat in Ner0 with my free coffee and free Waitr0se weekend paper. Swapped a read Christmas book for another Christmas book at their book swap shelf. Just killing time until the shops open as I had to leave at the normal time so as not to arouse suspicion from Mr SA.Had to get the bus into the city centre as it’s absolutely pouring down. I got an all day ticket as I’m going just outside the city later.Annoyed with myself for forgetting to bring my water bottle with me so have had to begrudgingly buy a bottle. I can’t go long without water so a necessity.Hoping to get the last couple of presents today then soak up the festive atmosphere.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
