Good to hear from you again. You’ve been missed. Hope you have a lovely Christmas too.RelievedSheff said:Merry Christmas SA.
We are not really in the Christmas spirit this year. We only put the tree up last weekend!
Looking forward to a couple of weeks off work though. Today is my last day as well.
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
The 5p veg has been nabbed. I haven’t gone mad this year 2 x carrots, 2 x shallots, 1 x sprouts and 1 x parsnips. No potatoes because I’ve just had the free sack. Just realised I didn’t see any swedes. I didn’t spend enough to get the £5 off £45 spend but then I wasn’t expecting to. I’ve got all the nibbles for Christmas Eve apart from sausage rolls which I’ll pick up from Gr£ggs next week.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

I got 15p veg instead as I was in Sains and it wasn't worth driving further to save the 10p's.
I need to figure out the best way to store it all. I'm hoping it will last a few weeks if I'm careful with it.Debts 04/01/25 02/01/26

The 'prepping' thread has been discussing storage and I'm thinking of making a small-scale vegetable clamp - basically layer the veg in sand out of doors. Vegetables used to be stored like this before fridges when the crop had to be kept through till spring.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Happy Saturday 🥂
This morning I made a list of all the jobs I want to get done by Christmas Eve and divided them into 4 days.Today I patched up the paint in my home office near the ceiling where I’d been too careful and it looks better now. While I had a paintbrush in my hand I patched up some bits of paint in other rooms (different colours). After lunch we went to the further away park with a Christmas market then found the market finished last week 😐 They had a jazz band on though and a few stalls. I bought a huge poinsettia for £3. They grow their own and the last one I bought from them is still going 4 years later. Mr SA got distracted by the coffee shop and ran into the back of my legs with his scooter 😞
I had promised him a festive beer at a nearby pub so we popped in there. Probably not a good choice as they were showing live football and it was really noisy. People just wouldn’t leave the dog alone and she snapped at a man who tried to stroke her grazing his hand with her teeth 😞 I felt awful about it but he shouldn’t have just lunged at her. She is very wary of strangers and hates them touching her.In other news it’s DS’s birthday today, timed that well didn’t I! He wasn’t due until January so I was totally unprepared and was taken into hospital with just a mascara and bag of satsumas - all the important things 🤣
Today’s exercise has been dog walking on the park across the road this morning and the walk to/from the further away park. We saw lots of lovely Christmas lights on the walk back as it was just starting to get dark.Really looking forward to the Strictly final tonight but sad it’s over for another year. I don’t mind who wins. Rose Prosecco is chilling in the fridge.Tonight’s dinner is pizza and salad.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
Sounds like a lovely day other than the scooter and pub incident.
It always amazes me how people invade dog's space without actually understanding you are invading their personal territory and like humans, they don't like it.
Enjoy the final xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
