Morning all, almost the weekend again.
WFH today so my nice relaxed start to the day. Read a couple of chapters of my latest book, did some Spanish learning and a survey.
As people have mentioned, it's the free electricity hour 2-3 today. Typically I'm in a meeting at that time but will set the washing machine to come on and charge up a few things again.
It will be NSD 6.
One of the regular savers is maturing shortly. This pot is earmarked for the emergency fund and DS's wedding. We're going to send them money instead of a present, Mr SA and I will both need new outfits and we'll have to get a taxi to/from the venue as it's around 8 miles away, plus we'll need money for drinks.
Today's exercise is a short Pilates session later, dog walking, a lunchtime strength training class and Zumba tonight.
Tonight's dinner is stir fry which will use up a few bits in the fridge.
Yesterday I did a 30 minutes guided cleaning session from TOMM, it was hall and stairs day, today it's kitchen day. DD is working so I need to make the most of her not being in the kitchen constantly. I'm trying to get into the habit of doing a guided clean every day, they're only 30 minutes and it's surprising how much you can get done when you're timed and being told what to do next. It's like having a personal trainer for cleaning. I bet everyone thinks I'm barking mad 🤣
I finally got around to phoning the cc to get Mr SA's pin unblocked so I need to take his card to an ATM tomorrow to get it back up and running again. Thankfully he rarely uses it but it's handy for him to have just in case. Back in the spendy days pre his illness he practically wore his cc out it was used that often, he seemed to think anything spent on a card didn't count! I think his mantra was 'can't afford it - put it on the card'.
Today I need to phone his dentist as I'm pretty certain it's been well over a year since he last went. It wouldn't surprise me if he's come off their patient list somehow. I also need to book our flu jabs.

The cleaning regime sounds good. How very dare you spend the day cleaning for yourself 😳 what is Mr SA like?…..he’s not on his own though. I was out earlier this week and Dh was in on his own. He does wash up but he never thought to Hoover or do anything else. If he’s out I usually take the opportunity to catch up on some sort of housework. That said I decided to take a leaf out of his book and went out to do what I wanted whilst he was out today.
Hope you find something lovely to wear for the weddingJanuary spends - £587.584 -
That’s the first full working week done since mid-August. It flew by to be honest.I’ve been nominated for another award 🥳 Not at work but for my litter picking on the park 🤣 Oh my days they used that photo of me in my posh dress, sandals and necklace looking like Margo in the Good Life 🤣 So nice to be recognised though, I do appreciate it although don’t expect it.Work wise had to man a stall at lunchtime for my work voluntary role and had zero visitors apart from 3 people I know who just stopped by for a chat. Two hours of my life I won’t get back 😞
Got back to my desk to find I had urgent stuff to deal with before I could log off and go home.Picked up the free Waitr0se paper, sorted out Mr SA’s credit card and stopped off at Lid! on the way home.Brace yourselves - Mr SA got the washing in for me - yes shock horror!! At least this time it was dry, when he’s done this before it wasn’t. Of course this meant I had a load of ironing to do.Today’s exercise was walking to/from work just under 22,000 steps. No other activity, that will do.
Tonight’s dinner was leftover sweet potato, chickpea and spinach curry from Wednesday. Coriander garnish courtesy of the greenhouse.Picked some blackberries and strawberries from the garden for tomorrow’s overnight oats. Now got my feet up with a G&T 🍸I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
