Afternoon all.
I've had a very productive day today, really pleased.
Had a lovely quiet early morning as DD went to work and Mr SA didn't get up until 9am.
We took the dog on the park, she had a really good walk around and I did a good litter pick.
Got back home and cracked on with the cleaning giving the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom particular attention. Did two loads of washing as it was dry this morning, however it's rained all afternoon so it hasn't dried. On the plus side there's no ironing to do.
Made a batch of spiced carrot and lentil soup for work lunches. Prepped tonight's dinner which is another old favourite spiced butternut squash stew with herb dumplings. Slightly changed this recipe as subbed squash for pumpkin and left off the egg as I can't abide eggs 🤢
Made a meal plan for next week taking note of what I already have in stock. Updated Tuesday's Mr M delivery.
Received the monthly statement from Octopus and still £572 in credit which is a good amount now the weather is getting colder and the heating will no doubt start kicking in soon.
As tomorrow is the start of the new 4 week budget period have closed off the current budget period with a decent underspend of £167.59. Divided this up into various pots: £7.59 to Christmas, £50 to personal spends, £20 to stock up shop pot, £20 to entertainment, £30 to house/garden, £20 to tech replacement pot and £20 to the vet pot. A couple more oddments shaved off and sent to the Christmas pot so in total £18.93 to that pot.
Today has been NSD4 of September, halfway to my target of 8.
Mr SA kindly reminded me last night that I'm doing a full week at work this coming week. Well thanks for reminding me about work on a Saturday night, much appreciated 😐
Going to enjoy a nice relaxing soak in the bath now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Seasidegal58 said:Mr SA was ‘starving’ by the time we got in so ended up making his lunch straight away. He always seems to be hungry and claims it’s because he’s not absorbing nutrients because of his IBD 😐 I did query what nutrients he thought there were in a Gr£ggs sausage roll.

Happy Monday everyone.
Gosh it's windy today! On the plus side it's dried the two loads of washing I put out yesterday. Good job I checked on my hanging chair when I got the washing in as the cover had blown off it despite it being secured by two bungee ropes. I think it might be time to put the chair bit in the shed until next spring. Checked on the greenhouse at the same time and pleased to see my green peppers are almost fully red now. Got a load of purple peppers to pick too.
Worked in the office this morning but came home late morning.
Picked up my free coffee on the way to work.
Free electricity hour 2-3, I'll be in a meeting but will charge up my iPad, watch, vacuum battery and Mr SA's scooter. I also plan to put the bedding I washed this morning in the dryer.
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work and it's strength training at 7.15.
Tonight's dinner is scampi from freezer stocks with homemade potato wedges and steamed veg.
New budget period starts today so spreadsheet has been updated. Let's see how it goes this month.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
I'm hoping I have got this free electricity hour right. I joined yesterday, better late than never. It said that even though I won't get the notification I am included. I will be in trouble if it doesn't because I've made DS change the time of his shower from 1 to 2. That is at least 4kWh & not to be sneezed at. Now the solar is pretty much on strike it is much needed. I sometimes wonder if the stress of these learning curves is worth it. But only sometimes.1

It's definitely 2-3pm @badmemory. I'm sticking the hot water and electric towel rails/radiators on (although I'm still generating 1.5kW... and actually, having checked, the water is hot and the battery is full - I should have washed some dog bedding ready to stick in the dryer).1

So far I have managed to use almost 6kWh, with 20mins to go & added 30% to the battery.2

@Sun_Addict. I kept bag one of my mom's handbags to use as a peg bag. Very useful as I put over my head and can easily get into the bag to get a peg out.I am a Senior Ambassador on the Competitions Time Board and the Old Style MoneySaving Board.

I made the most of the free electricity too but as we’re on the ev scheme we had to have the car plugged in. So I washed a load just before 2 put that in the dryer and put another load in the washer 👍
January spends - £587.582 -
Over 7kWh, around 4 into the battery which will get me a long way past the 4-7 very expensive time, over 2 to DS's shower & then the dehumidifier to get the bathroom from 90% humidity down to around 50ish. Oh what a glamorous life I lead. Actually very pleased & thanks to all on here who made it seem so easy & doable.6
