Is it possible the GPs felt the need to check you out because of the stress involved in dealing with Mr SA. You make sure you keep very active but many do not. Glad it was good news though.2

Excellent CS intervention!
Glad the BP and worry was all okay. Not that you're same age group as my mum but she always gets baffled looks for not being on any prescribed medication in her 70s. She'd happily take it if it sorted out her arthritic back but like women's health, older age health is still very much viewed as 'just one of those things' and not a priority 😕 But she is otherwise well, long may it continue for you both!https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

Mr SA has already cracked the screen on his replacement phone - he dropped it! I don’t think he’s had it 2 weeks 😞 I’ve ordered him a phone case despite his protests. As the Zumba class wasn’t on tonight I found a really good Zumba inspired workout on YT from Burpee Girl. It was just basic steps but they changed constantly, a bit like Keep Fit with Rick without the chatter 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

It won’t help with this phone but I’ve recently bought my son a used phone from CEX as they come with a 5 year guarantee - covers everything but Mr SA dropping it !Sealed pot challenge 822

I've had a Doogee rugged phone for the past few (6?) years, they can be dropped, thrown, frozen, left in water... and interestingly don't overheat in summer unlike my work phone. They also have cool functions in them like decibel meters and picture hanging guides. The batteries last for days, and they are quite heavy so it makes it harder to forget because I realise my pocket/handbag feels too light. I have never broken them and I'm on my third, I usually pay around £100 for them. I'm not sure I could back to a breakable phone, it's so lovely not to have to worry about breaking it or damaging it, or being without it while it gets repaired.
It's definitely been a good MSE thing for me.Debts 04/01/25 01/10/25

Glad your BP was ok. My GP sends out these requests for checks periodically to those who they haven't seen for a while. It's just routine I think."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

I know just what you mean about people on medication through lack of exercise. My MIL is a prime example. I know she's 78 now, but she's been on BPmeds & statins for ages & diagnosed as pre diabetic but refuses to try any form of exercise as she says she gets out of breath! Won't listen when we tell her its a case of " use it or lose it" . There are people at my line dancing class & gym, way older than her.Making the debt go down and savings go up
