The vet is very happy with the dog, she’s doing really well and her ear is healing nicely. She’s usually a bit snappy when she’s being examined but was really good today. She wasn’t happy about having a thermometer shoved where the sun doesn’t shine though 😬 She needs to go back for her discharge appointment a week on Monday. She’s allowed 10-15 minutes exercise a day until she’s discharged. She’s got used to the cone and it doesn’t appear to be bothering her now. It’s attached to her collar so I take it off when she’s eating and drinking. She tried to scratch her ear earlier so can see why it’s needed.
DS and the GKs visited us this afternoon so we sat out in the garden with the weather being so nice. After they left I sat in my hanging chair and finished my current book. Had to evict the cat first though, she wasn’t happy as she thinks it’s her chair 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -

Smile of the day courtesy of DGS who is autistic. His class is learning about WW2 and they had someone visit the school who had fought in it. They were told they could ask him questions. DGS had a question for him -do you like cats 🤣 Not sure that’s the sort of question they had in mind 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Oh bless him, shows the visitor made a good impression if DGS wanted to engage to know this important information!
Glad dog is more comfortable and the vet was happy with progress, and that you got some time in the hanging chair temporarily loaned to you by cat

Another weekend gone 😭
What a beautiful day ☀️
Took the dog on the park this morning. She did really well, you wouldn’t believe she had a big op a couple of days ago. She’s being a devil with her meds though. I usually conceal tablets in dog peanut butter but she keeps spitting it out. She eventually had them but had to conceal them in a cube of stewing beef. The pot I bought for the palm tree is too small 😞 I can’t find anything big enough online and that pot was the biggest BnQ had. Might have to go to the garden centre, I’m sure I saw some huge ones in there last time we went.I’ve been really busy with housework and gardening today but I managed a small amount of time on my sunbed as well as the hanging chair. It was like being on holiday briefly. So annoying that there’s always something I have to do, I never get time to fully relax.Tonight’s dinner was harissa prawn orzo, an old favourite.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
SA keep a look out in Lidl I got some huge pots in there last year4

It was a lovely day here too. Rain and thunder was forecast but didn't appear. It meant I got a bit more done in the garden, but the garden would be very grateful for a bit of rain. I never thought Id say that!
I'm glad doggo seems to be recovering well.Debts 04/01/25 01/07/25

It's great to hear your dog is doing so well! Sorry about the pot for the palm though. If it's going to live out of doors, could it be planted into the ground, or does it need protection? (I envisage a Victorian style glass house being built around it and towering over the neighbourhood).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)
