Forgot to say, took the dog on the park this morning and was also doing some litter picking. A bloke approached me and said he was from Immediate Justice and can I leave some litter for them to pick 🤣 He said they keep coming here only to find there’s nothing to do. Apparently they’re here again next Saturday so I mustn’t litter pick beforehand 😆 I must admit they’ve done a great job of clearing weeds and tackling overgrown areas. I think it’s a good idea to get those who’ve committed petty crimes to do this sort of thing rather than be locked up.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

I agree it's good for them. It will also save you a job
Ill be thinking of you tomorrow. Pets are family and cause as much worry as any person would.

That's hilarious @Sun_Addict, 'sorry petty criminals there's just no casual vandalism left for you to redeem yourselves with, that notorious SA's been round, she should be locked up' 😂
Maybe you could nab one to sort out the coat rack!2 -
@Sun_Addict hope all goes well tomorrow. I continue to be in awe at everything you manage to achieve - your determination and focus are really inspiring.
Have you ever thought of doing a cruise with Mr SA? Not a question you need to answer and you might hate the idea, but I've been on several with my partner. We're definitely on the younger side of the clientele, but partner has Crohn's, and likes the fact that there are always medics on hand. In my experience they are brilliant at looking after all guests whatever their situation, and will really take good care of you. Just a thought. It might be your worst nightmare!2 -
Fingers crossed for your dog today. WFH as and when you can today is a good idea to pass the time and distract you.The coat rack tale made me smile - probably wouldn't make me smile if it was my coatrack though. You are so patient!2

We didn't get back from the vets until half an hour ago and the vet has just called to give me options for the surgery. Her ear isn't as bad as it looks and the ear canal itself is quite clear. The growth looks worse than it is because it's inflamed. So she doesn't need her whole ear canal removing. He could just remove the growth quickly but it would still leave the base and it will more than likely regrow at some stage. He offered another option which is to remove the growth and its base taking part of the ear canal away, this is his preferred option and what he'd do if it was his dog. So I've gone for that option and he's cracking on with it right now. He said her blood tests all came back good. The lump will be sent away to test for cancer. They are also going to cut her nails while she's under anaesthetic as they can do a thorough job while she's asleep. Apparently the good thing about the option I've gone for is that she shouldn't get as many ear infections as her ear canal will be exposed to the air. He said it will look awful for a few days and pus will ooze out of it but it will look worse than it is. She will also be in a fair bit of pain so will be on strong painkillers for a couple of days.
In other news I picked up a huge pot for the palm tree from BnQ, went to Lid! and Mr T so shopping has been done. It will be an expensive day as the vet bill will be about £2400. I will try to claim back on insurance but not holding my breath as the growth started out as a tiny polyp and I didn't even think to declare it when I renewed the insurance last July as it only became a problem earlier this year. I'm looking on it as the cost of one week's holiday including spending money.
I'm logging back onto work for a bit now until we get a call to pick her up.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -

It will probably depend on what the vet says on his report to the insurance company. Just send in what they have done and see what happens. It depends on the insurance company how they treat the claim.1

Glad it sounds like decent news 🤞
