No-one seems to speak English these days.  To be clear this is not a criticism of people for whom English is not their first language.  This is a criticism of people who first language is supposed to be english but they seem unable to write the instructions they need to write in a way that someone else understands.

SA, can I ask what might be a silly question?

What sort of things do you include in your soft plastics for recycling please? I was cooking dinner last night and said to my OH that I threw out the bag for frozen green beans, the plastic off the leeks and the plastic packaging for a chorizo - 3 items on 1 meal... do these things count? I only ask as you're recycling stuff every week and I would like to be better.

    Thanks! Sarah
Here is a guide: Soft Plastic Recycling - Co-op although I take mine to Tesco and it says on the outside of the bin what can be recycled. So yes it's plastic bags/wrappers/pet food pouches etc.
Thanks Sun_Addict, I'll keep an eye out at the supermarkets to see what they'll accept. I'll double check the council website too and make a start on an extra recycling bin.

Does Podback not do postal returns? I've not used them before and my Nespresso hasn't been used in so long that I don't know if I've even got pods or return bags for it at the moment. Just need to find it a home in the new house and then decide if it gets kept.
I don't know if this would work for you but I have an old nespresso machine that uses the original pods. I have this little basic gadget from Hotel Chocolat that pushes the used grounds out of the pods into the container, then you can rinse the aluminium cases and put them in with your tin recycling, and the grounds onto your compost or garden. It is ridiculously satisfying to use.

It cost about £4. I tried to post a picture but I'm clearly doing something wrong.

The coffee pod gadget is a great idea. Shame they don’t do one for my pods. Before you could recycle them I used to scrape the coffee out and use it on the garden. Still had to throw the pods away though.

I do plan to invest in a bean to cup machine this year. It will save money in the long run and no need to worry about recycling pods. It will have to be easy to use for Mr SA though. It took several attempts before he got the hang of this one.

The description says it works with all brands of coffee pod.
