No you are definitely not the only one. Mind you I am not the most patient of shoppers at the best of times. I would have mine delivered but it always seems to turn up without the things I really want & they never let you know before you get it that that item isn't coming.2 -
I have a part share in a vax (I think the pet smart one) and ive always been pretty pleased with it.
Must be something in the air as I did some of my carpets at the weekend 😅 Spring cleaning fever maybe!

And here we are almost at the end of another week and another month! Every Monday morning I despair thinking oh no I've got to survive another working week and in reality it flies by - and is never as dire as I anticipate.
WFH today so a nice leisurely start to the day reading and doing some Spanish lessons. Work seems to be unusually quiet this morning but it might be a different story after 9am. The thing I enjoy most about my job is that I'm left to just get on with it without anyone interfering. If I have a very rare quiet time there's always something I've put on a back burner to do - in this case it's mandatory training 😬
DD is at work today so I plan to test out the carpet cleaner later in case she's not working Sunday. I can't be doing with her constantly going up and down the stairs when I'm trying to clean it.
On the money front just waiting for payday tomorrow so I can do the money shuffle. It's also the last few days of the 4 week budget period - looking like a reasonable underspend but not as good as last month's. I think most of any surplus will be used to start to build the vet pot back up as it's got less than £100 in it after Saturday's expensive meds for the dog. If I'm careful there will even be a small underspend in the groceries pot. Today will be a NSD anyway.
Exercise plan is dog walking later this morning, a lunchtime kettlebells class and Zumba tonight.
Tonight's dinner is bean and sausage cassoulet. I'm swapping the sausages for vegan ones and the beef stock cube for a veggie one. This will use up the last of the vegan sausages in the freezer. I might start moving things from the small freezer to the main one today in preparation for defrosting it.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
I managed to have a go with the carpet cleaner in my lunch break and it's done a fantastic job. I'd be pleased if it had been done professionally let alone by me. All the stains have gone and the carpet looks new again. You should see the colour of the water in the dirty water tank!! It's dry already and I didn't use the drying function. The only downsides I can report are it's quite heavy, but then it's very powerful, and a bit awkward on stairs because you have to balance it on the stair to use the hose, although the hose is fairly long so it stretches for a few stairs. I'm going to do the rugs at the weekend. Anyway I'm really pleased with it and it only took me about 20 minutes.
As the weather has been so lovely I washed the bedding and hung it on the line, need to fetch it in shortly.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -

Glad the carpet cleaner worked well. We had a Vax and got rid of it because it was rubbish. I've been interested in the discussion!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Not fond of ours, either @jwil. I'm assuming the technology has moved on since we bought ours.
Water used to get encouragingly dirty, yet carpets never seemed to look much better, so I too am following the progress of @Sun_Addict & her new machine.

Happy Friday 😁
Worked in the office until 11 and finishing up at home. I usually finish early on a Friday but I want to clear a few bits while it's quiet.
Mr SA rang me in a panic accusing me of taking his keys to work with me!! He reckons he's looked everywhere for them. These are the keys he regularly loses for his scooter, the house and the back gate. I reminded him he must've had them yesterday afternoon as he took the dog out and came back in the house with them (I was working in my office so the door was locked). This is what happens when he's constantly changing over man bags and coats. The amount of times I've told him to put them in the key basket in the hall when he gets in but he just doesn't listen to me, it's so infuriating. The annoying thing is that they can't be far, they'll be in a pocket or one of his many bags.
Today is payday 😁 Spreadsheet has been updated. £100 sent to premium bonds, money for the regular savers put to one side ready to transfer over after the 1st and the usual amounts sent to the various sinking funds pots.
Small spend of £5.45 in Lid!, picked up Mr SA's free pretzel. Sadly that's the last of the spinning wheel free items and it's back to the scratch card thing now.
Today's exercise was walking to/from work and I'm going to do a yoga session before I jump in the bath later.
Tonight's dinner is air fried salmon with Mexican rice and steamed veg.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Hope those keys turn up. I lost the key to our living room windows a couple of years ago & it has never been found! I'm sure you're right though, & that the missing set will be in a different bag or coat. Let's hope so.
