Morning all, happy Tuesday.
WFH today so my lovely leisurely start reading with a coffee. Mr M order has been delivered and packed away.
Holiday balance went out this morning so time to start counting down properly, 10 weeks to go 😁
As I will gain extra time by WFH I'm determined to give the kitchen a good clean when I've logged off. The downside of WFH is it's so tempting just to do another half hour which then turns into another hour so I'm going to be strict with myself. It's so busy at the moment though and I get bombarded with stuff. I wouldn't be tempted to stay longer if I was working in the office that's a fact.
Today's exercise plan is dog walking later this morning, Power Punch at lunchtime and Resistance Bands tonight. Will squeeze another short yoga session in later too.
Tonight's dinner is smoked haddock, leek and cauliflower with lentil rice, all items from freezer/cupboard/fridge stocks. I have 3 boxes of lentil rice to use up. I'm getting very close to being able to squeeze the contents of the small freezer into the larger one and finally defrost it. Only taken me about 2 years 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -
That's the worst part of the working week almost done.
Worked in the office until just after lunchtime, just got another hour to do.
Nipped out this morning to the Lid! near work as I wanted to see if they had the garlic puree in stock. It was so nice to walk round a nice tidy store after the recent chaotic refurb of the one I pass on the way home. No garlic puree there either, you can guarantee it'll be back next week when the 15% off offer has passed. Picked up Mr SA's free chocolate brownie, now have a free baguette to pick up.
Today's exercise is walking to/from work and the other Lid! just over 22,000 steps so far, plus Zumba at 6pm so today will be a good day for steps.
Tonight's dinner is a portion of veggie chilli from freezer stocks with baked sweet potato and salad.
Mid week finance check done, cc balance paid off and an oddment of £6.41 sent to the Christmas pot.

He decided in the end he didn’t want the batteries as the gloves were warm enough without. I did originally say to him no wonder someone donated them, they’ll weigh a ton.milann said:6 batteries in gloves 😳 like you say they’ll be heavy.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
SA, when you go to big T next, have a look for minced garlic in the aisle where they have Mexican/Japanese/Thai stuff (not quite world foods but getting there!). I bought a decent jar for around £1.70, the garlic puree in Lidl is probably 70p each and less plastic. I'm guilty of using all the different garlics though - we have jars of minced and chopped and have used the tubes from Lidl for years. Life's too short for peeling garlic!2

Another one here who uses ready chopped "lazy" garlic.sarah_diamond said:SA, when you go to big T next, have a look for minced garlic in the aisle where they have Mexican/Japanese/Thai stuff (not quite world foods but getting there!). You get loads in a jar. Probably doesn't work out that much more expensive than buying fresh bulbs.2 -
I ended up buying a jar from Mr T last week from the world foods aisle for £1.30. It’s a decent size jar but not too big. I buy the ginger purée in a jar too. There’s only me that uses them in the house. A lot of the famous chefs admit to using them too. You can buy it frozen too but I’m not so keen on them.sarah_diamond said:SA, when you go to big T next, have a look for minced garlic in the aisle where they have Mexican/Japanese/Thai stuff (not quite world foods but getting there!). Yes, I love making a chicken laksa (an old HelloFr3sh recipe) and that wants garlic, ginger and lemongrass - all of which come in jars/squeezies! Just feels like I use every teaspoon we own!Sun_Addict said:

Dd bought me a plate that grates garlic as a present……trouble is is grates finger tips too 😳 it’s lethal but at least grated finger gets treated with anti-septic straight away 😳Only used it the once but it’s quite pretty on top of my microwave. I usually just smash garlic with a big knife and chop in salt or I use garlic powder.January spends - £587.580
