I'm sorry Mr SA is challenging you even more than usual. His general manner doesn't seem to help much and I bet thanks and appreciation are rarely forthcoming from him. I hope you know we all think you're the best.5

Sorry Mr SA is challenging. I keep meaning to do LPA for us as well. I've heard from people who didn't have one and it's a nightmare trying to get everything sorted."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1

Happy August - how are we in August already!
Regular savings pots fed: £250 to Princip@lity, £200 to Nwide and £150.00 to YBS. Another £100 overpayment to the mortgage.
WFH today. Raining this morning so at least I didn't get soaked on the walk to the office.
I'm going to move the gin today. I've thought on several occasions it's going down quicker than I thought it should. I know I can be a bit generous with measures sometimes but I only drink it at the weekend and then it's only one glass, occasionally two. I've caught him hanging around the cupboard on several occasions - it's always when I've gone upstairs to have a shower or get changed. He seems to like thinking he's doing something behind my back. The best place to keep it will be as low a level as possible as he struggles to bend. I have the perfect place on the bottom shelf of my bookcase which is hidden by the sofa arm in the dining room. I only keep a store of candles on it so these can be moved elsewhere. I should be able to keep the bottles out on display but unfortunately not. I wouldn't mind if he liked it and had the odd glass with a mixer and enjoyed it but I suspect he's just taking a quick swig out of the bottle. He knows he's not meant to drink spirits which is why I don't buy ones he admits to liking. I expect it's the getting one over me aspect he enjoys. His behaviour is often extremely childish and I think he's probably jealous that I've got the gin just for me.
Anyway...
August won't be a particularly frugal month, as I've said, it's my birthday month and I have a couple of meals out with friends planned plus I'm going to another friend's house next Friday. This will all come out of a separate pot though and won't affect the normal spending pots.
Today's exercise is dog walking when it stops raining, stretch & tone at lunchtime and Zumba tonight.
I'm making vegetable lasagne for tonight's dinner which I'll have with salad. I'm going to make 4 portions so can pop 3 in the freezer.

Just delurking - I have followed your diary for years and I think you are absolutely amazing. Please, please get an LPA in place, both for finances and health and welfare. It seems to me that Mr SA’s condition has got worse in recent years - more accidents for example - it’s certainly not going to get better. It don’t know what arrangements you have about bank accounts etc but it would make life much easier for you if for any reason he lost capacity entirely, even temporarily. You can do it all online, it’s fairly straightforward.I don’t know how you manage to do all that you do and maintain your sense of humour. I applaud you.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.7

Also delurking to suggest that not only Mr SA needs LPAs, but so do you. Who do you want looking after your best interests if something happens to you, even temporarily?#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3665

I've lost count of whether I am thirding, fourthing or ninety-seventhing the comment that you BOTH need LPAs in place. It is going to be something I am putting on our to do list for later this year/early next too.
As for Mr SA and the gin, if he's not meant to drink spirits but is, could this be contributing to some of the more random symptoms, accidents etc he experiences I wonder? I definitely agree that moving it while annoying to have to do, is definitely the path of least resistance for dealing with the situation.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thank you all, yes I'm planning to do my LPA at the same time as Mr SA's although it will have to be DS, definitely not Mr SA, perish the thought! It made me realise I do have a distinct lack of responsible people to be my LPA, downside of being an only child. Not entirely sure DS is that responsible but he's a better bet than DD.
Cashed out £25.50 from PA, I was hoping the pending amount would clear but at least it will start off August's earnings. I've done a fair few YG and Opinium surveys in July but obviously these need time to build up. I've also earned £3 from Amazon Shopper Panel but this goes straight into my Amazon account.
Picked a courgette, salad leaves and some blackberries from the garden. There are lots of strawberries to pick but I want to leave them until I need them tomorrow.
The gin is hidden. Have moved it to the bottom shelf of the book case. It can't be seen at all, the bottles are pushed right to the back and I've put my candles in front of them. I'm cross I've had to do this though. You can't even see it if you sit on the sofa at the side of it. I've left a bottle of alcohol free gin in the cupboard, I doubt he'll be interested in that 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8
