Morning all, happy Tuesday.
WFH today.
The Mr M delivery has been and all packed away, nothing missing or subbed but somehow I managed to add two packs of Tassimo latte pods to my order by mistake. We have a L'Or machine but fortunately I kept the old Tassimo machine and Mr SA will drink latte so not a complete waste of money. Note to self check the updated order carefully 🙄 The app was a bit over-sensitive last night and kept adding things to my basket randomly but fortunately I noticed all of them apart from the pods. Annoyed with myself as they were an unwanted spend in this week's grocery budget 🙁
Savings wise, I'm very aware I only have about 34 paydays until retirement so trying to save as much as I can without scrimping. I also want to get as many home improvements done as possible before then. This year's aim when one of the regular savers matures is to refurb the dining room.
Today's exercise is dog walking later this morning, bums & tums at lunchtime and resistance bands tonight. I though my waist would ache today after the hooping but it feels ok. Going to have another practice with it today.
Tonight's dinner is a portion of squash dhal leftover from Sunday. Food wise I'm on a mission to empty the small freezer this week so I can defrost it. There is a fair bit of space now in the main freezer so I should be able to squeeze everything in temporarily. The main freezer is frost free so don't have to worry about that one.
7 weeks today we'll be at the airport 😎

Oh my goodness, 34 paydays til retirement is exciting and scary! Good idea to get big home things done/saved for beforehand if you can. What are you wanting with the dining room refurb?2

Definitely a good idea to have a balance of getting things done ahead of retirement and also making sure you bolster savings as well. 34 paydays sounds like both quite a lot and not very many depending which way you look at it I think!
We also earmark regular savers for specific purposes - the Coventry one was theoretically for the solar this time round to reduce the amount needing to be taken from long term savings. As I haven't gone for that one again I am now trying to work on using the money which would have gone across to it monthly to stash as much for it as possible - with luck we may not need to even touch all the Coventry money!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

The ceiling re-plastered, coving removed, new flooring and painting. The walls were re-plastered a few years ago but we didn't bother with the ceiling.PennysIntoPounds said:Oh my goodness, 34 paydays til retirement is exciting and scary! Age is just a number and has nothing to do with how you feel. Don't know what age you are planning to retire, but I am 66 now and feel better than I did when I was 56...lol. I'm pretty sure you are fit and healthy with all the walking and healthy eating you do, so I'm sure you'll be fine.Sun_Addict said:
