Love it....but isn't it so true. My in-laws are prime examples of this. They will go grocery shopping in Mr T and then MIL will tell us how she bought 4 new pairs of trousers as they were in the sale. But apart from grocery shopping, they don't go out the house and she has bags of clothes she keeps donating to charity, so does she really need new stuff? I think not.Sun_Addict said:Forgot to add something I saw on FB that made me laugh. Someone had posted on an extreme bargains group about a coat they’d found in MnS reduced to £28. Someone had commented did they actually need it or just bought it because it was reduced. Someone else commented on that comment saying “who do you think you are, Martin Lewis” 🤣Making the debt go down and savings go up

SA am I right in thinking it’s you who likes the magic trousers. I had some bought me for Christmas and they’re so comfortable. It says hand wash though on the label - do you machine wash yours. I think I’m going to do them on a gentle cool wash.January spends - £587.580

I bought a few pairs during the pandemic when I was WFH and yes they are super comfortable. Mine were machine wash though. I rarely wear them now as I’ve gone back to my beloved skinny jeans now I’m out and about more.milann said:SA am I right in thinking it’s you who likes the magic trousers. Morning all, happy Friday. Where has that week gone from breaking up for Christmas this time last week!Payday today 🥳 The payday shuffle will be done shortly.Still need to find the right time to do the bathroom sealer tape. It says to leave to dry for 24 hours which just isn’t possible in a 3 adult household where all 3 operate on different time systems. The best bet is on a day when DD isn’t working after my early morning shower when there may be about 8 hours grace but certainly not 24! They probably think everyone has at least 2 bathrooms. Not sure about plans for the rest of the day. We’ll have to take the dog out at some stage.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Final £55.66 of the 1p saver challenge savings made so finished on target at £667.86. Challenge complete 😁 I don't plan to join this again for 2024 though as I've got several savings pots on the go and I did get a bit mixed up with this one. It's a great idea though for those who need it. This pot will be added to the emergency fund which is a completely different savings pot to the others.
CC balance paid off.
Another payment has gone out for the windows/door loan with the final instalment going out at the end of January. It will be brilliant to have an extra £155 a month to send to savings.
Money put aside for the regular savers January payments. £100 put aside for premium bonds so will send that later.

Would the bathroom tape wait until you go away and you could ask Dd to do it for you after she’s finished in the bathroom. It probably wouldn’t get a full 24 hours but longer than when you have 3 people in the house?January spends - £587.582

It’s done. DD left for work at 11.30 and I seized the opportunity. It looks so much better already. It seems to have stuck well but we’ll see.milann said:Would the bathroom tape wait until you go away and you could ask Dd to do it for you after she’s finished in the bathroom. @Sun_Addict - Snap! I've just put our month's £100 into premium bonds too. Our first draw next week, isn't it? And I think also for @ladyholly. Mr F has downloaded a bond checker app. Despite understanding the laws of probability very well & almost certainly better than me, he seems pretty sure we are going to strike lucky sooner rather than later! Fingers crossed for all of us PB newbies, anyway.
