Ooh 'huge and long' - will have a look :-)
I'd be irritated by the reductions - can you return?

There’s a Bo¥es where MiL lives in Leics - & there is probably nothing they do not stock - the smallest comprehensive store I’ve ever been to.Really hoping that the curse of the dept store closures don’t affect them - I’ve no idea what she would do for shopping if they closed!Gutted to find out F@nwicks is the latest casualty.it’s so much easier to shop online - but these stores will continue to close down if people don’t shop in them.Lancashire

Morning all, happy Tuesday. Mr SA and the dog still in bed so all quiet here - for now.
WFH today. Mr M delivery has been and all packed away. Got BG coming to service the boiler some time this morning. Also having gel polish on my nails later this afternoon.
Exercise will be taking the dog on the park later this morning unless BG haven't been then I'll have to wait in and find something on YT. Bums & Tums at lunchtime and resistance bands tonight. Will also get a bit of a walk to/from the beauty salon although it's only 10 minutes walk away.
Tonight's dinner is a portion of chickpea masala from the freezer mainly because, after playing freezer tetris this morning following the delivery, it was the only thing that wouldn't fit back in. Still not sure what I had yesterday but it was nice - I hadn't labelled it - it definitely involved roast veg and I think orzo (maybe 😆),
It's so sad about all these shops closing down but it's getting increasingly difficult to find what you want in physical shops, I really struggle. Even Mr SA said after his last shopping trip into town no wonder everyone shops online. I think the pandemic hastened the demise of many as everyone turned to online shopping.
Housework wise, cleaning the kitchen today and two loads of washing on the line so ironing later.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

Unfortunately I can't return the items as he's already worn the shoes and the labels are cut off the rest. It's a chance you take and he wasn't willing to wait until the sales.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
I think that there's also less available cash to be spent shopping both online and in person. When you take into account mortgage rate rises, utilities price rises and the increase in price of the weekly grocery shop then there probably isn't much left over especially if you have children needing new school stuff too.
I was behind a young mum doing shopping in the supermarket a couple of months back. Her son who looked about ten or eleven was helping and occasionally asking for things. If his mum said no we don't have money for those he just nodded and moved on. We arrived at the checkout at more or less the same time and he was being so cheerful and helpful still that I gave him my emergency £5 and told him to run and get his biscuits that he wanted. I told his mum that he was a credit to her and even when he came back he'd chosen something for his sister as well as himself. It just shows that even youngsters are aware of the economic situation (and how well he'd been brought up).
I hope that you have a lovely time on Friday. I still remember that "let out of school" feeling that I had the first time that the House Troll was old enough to be left at home while I went into town. I'm glad that Mr S_A is happy with his shoes. I wonder what the next pester will be 😁8 -
Aw that's such a kind thing to do @CRANKY40 and what a lovely young boy. I bet you made his day.
He's already got an ongoing pester of the necklace like Spider's from Corrie - it's not going away, he keeps reminding me 😬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
If you look at most of the logistics of selling in town it is no wonder they are sinking fast. It costs more to have goods delivered into a town rather than out of town, their rates are higher, then their customers have to pay a lot more to park.

Wilkis has been a bit catch 22 for a while, no stock on the good bird stuff in store (or online) so we went elsewhere and bought the lower quality stuff. The big high rent stores as empty as the tiny local town one.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
