The weather has stayed dry all day so far although it keeps clouding over. It was quite warm in the sun. Managed to get a line of washing dry plus a fair bit of gardening done. Sadly I found one of the pond fish dead floating on the pond 🙁 Mr SA has buried it. We’re now down to our last one, a huge black fish nicknamed Jaws. He/she will wonder where the other one is as they used to swim around together 🙁 We used to have loads of fish, herons had a lot of them before we got the decoy heron.I decided on tofu stir fry tonight and have been pressing the liquid out of the tofu with one of Mr SA’s beer cans 😆A portion is now marinating in garlic, ginger and soy sauce. The rest of it has been frozen.I picked some French beans from the garden plus some strawberries and raspberries.Just going to do a yoga session then will have a nice soak in the bath with a face pack. The dog is going to get in the bath after me so I’d better use her favourite Molton Brown bubbles 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Happy Monday 🙂
Day off work today and not back in the office until Thursday so a nice ease into the working week for me.Not a NSD as we’ve been to the big Mr T this morning. Picked up a couple of crates of Mr SA’s beer as it’s currently cheaper there than Mr M even with discount. It’s a fair walk away so the dog got a good walk and so did I.It was raining first thing but cleared up by 10am. The sun keeps coming out then going back in again.Trying to motivate myself to get a few things done and not waste my last day off. I do struggle when I’m not in work mode. I’ve made a start on giving the kitchen a good clean. Mr SA is having his siesta so trying not to make much noise as it’s so peaceful when he’s not shuffling around.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Forgot to add, trying a new recipe tonight - one pan miso aubergine bake which is a Deliciously Ella recipe from the weekly email I get.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

The weather was lovely this afternoon so I got a fair bit done in the garden including some time in the hanging chair with my book. That was a very pleasant surprise 🙂
The miso aubergine was absolutely delicious. I love anything with an umami flavour 😋 I can’t find the recipe online to share unfortunately. Definitely one to make again.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
Morning all, happy Tuesday.
Back at work today but WFH so not too bad. Good to be back in a routine again to be honest. Having been off since last Thursday I have quite a few emails to plough my way from plus the two people I PA for as they are both on leave. So today's work will mainly revolve around emails 😆
Although it's not payday until Monday, we can view our payslips today. The COL payment has gone in but have paid £500 of it in tax and NI 😲 Still it's a good amount I wasn't expecting and will be put to good use - mainly savings and a few bits I'd been putting off like new reading glasses.
The Mr M shop has been delivered and packed away.
Today's exercise is dog walking later this morning, bums & tums at lunchtime and resistance bands tonight.
Tonight's dinner is Spanish style butterbean stew. I have a portion of yesterday's miso aubergine for my lunch.
I still need to look at finances as the new 4 week budget period kicked off yesterday. I know I need to make a better effort on the groceries front as I overspent stocking up on things in the last budget period. The freezer and cupboards are full so there is no excuse!

Yes, ditto eating up freezer stores next month. We need to be doing that too....partly as we have lots in, but also because I need to free up space for batch cooking & freezing from our garden veg.

I've just started budgeting on a 4 week period for grocery, used to do it weekly. Not sure how well it is going to work. I'll give it a few months to get used to it before I decide.Making the debt go down and savings go up
