He fell down the stairs earlier this morning and has just been taken into hospital by ambulance. He’s got a big lump on the back of his head but is otherwise miraculously unharmed. I haven’t gone with him and they didn’t suggest it. I’ll pop down later to pick him up or go and see him if they keep him in. He didn’t want to go but they persuaded him he needs to be checked over.

I didn’t really get back to sleep. I’d just nodded off when he rang to ask what time I was going to hospital. I told him I was too tired to think straight. There’s no point me going until I know what’s happening. Plus I’ll need to ring the surgery to cancel the paramedic. He said A&E is fairly quiet, he’s been examined and they’re concerned about the bump on his head.

I’m so exhausted by all this constant stress with him.

Really thinking of you SA. I can only imagine how scary the noise of him falling downstairs was and the triggers a head injury might have. Plus the relentlessness of it all being on you.

Hopefully, he is OK. He does seem a tough nut in some ways with all his falls - no really bad injuries.

He’s got a lot of padding which must help. DD heard him first as I was fast off and there’s not much wakes me up. The poor dog was shaking with fright. I had a feeling he was going to end up in hospital, I should’ve really phoned for an ambulance when he had the fall earlier in the day. On the plus side at least he’ll be tested for infection now.

@IzzyBee I am entitled to special leave for caring responsibilities but no point taking it at the moment while I'm waiting for news. Work are aware I may need to shoot off at any time. I'm off tomorrow anyway as I'm supposed to be going to my friend's house for the afternoon. Hopefully I'll still be able to go. I'm sure I'll get a call to go and pick him up at some stage today but I hope they don't let him out until they're certain he's out of danger.

What a drama. I can absolutely see how exhausting it must be. With the infection on top of the bang on the head, he is definitely in the right place.

It’s all happening there SA. I hope you are ok. It must be so wearing and tiring for you. It’s hard for MrSA, but even harder for you as you are fully aware of what’s happening and no one wants or plans to be a carer 😢 I do hope you get your lovely afternoon tomorrow.
