Well I'm having a nightmare of a morning. Mr SA has had a bad fall, he also knocked over his urinal so I went upstairs to find him in a pool of wet. To say it's everywhere is an understatement - all over the bed, even the pillows and the dog's bed. I honestly don't know where to start to clean it up! I've stripped the bed as a start. Managed to drag him by his feet to the stairs where he pulled himself up using the rails.
I'm really shaken up by it. He's going to ring the doctors now as I'm pretty certain he has a water infection, he's not only poorly he's doing and saying some really odd things.
Thank goodness I'm WFH today, will probably do the same tomorrow if he's no better. Fortunately I have no meetings and there's nothing urgent I need to see to, everything can wait.
Not a NSD as I'm having my nails done later. I'm not cancelling as I've been looking forward to this and I'll only be out of the house an hour at the most. I need to go out anyway as we've run out of paracetamols (Mr SA has cleared us out of them).

Just tried the doctors and they're 'extremely busy and unable to take my call' 🤬 This is the trouble with our surgery, the only way you can get an appointment is to ring up at 8am then they're inundated with calls!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Sorry to hear you are having such a difficult start to your day. I think you are quite right to suspect that a water infection might have taken hold. So annoying about the surgery call queue. A water infection is usually just a dipstick in a sample & some anti-bios, & I bet there will be plenty of folk in surgery phone queues today needing the same simple process. I think this was one of the conditions pharmacists might deal with in future. Hope the day does get better for you both.

What a dreadful start to the day.
It does sound as if it might be an infection - if necessary could you go through an urgent care centre or A&E? Not only is it affecting Mr SA, and obviously is stressful for both of you, but having to pull him around to get him to a place where he can stand is potentially dangerous for you. It puts you both only a step away from him having to go somewhere to be cared for if you are physically out of commission.
Thankfully that's not where you are today, so I hope things improve and you can get through to the surgery or an alternative quite soon.
I'm glad you have the prospect of pretty nails to look forward to! What do you have in mind for them?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Good luck with theGP. If you get no joy from them do you have an urgent care facility near by or A & E. UTIs should not be ignored and you cannot be expected to lift Mr SA.

I finally got to speak to a receptionist who told me there are no appointments available today. I told him it’s urgent and he’s a priority patient. He said he’ll speak to the GP and call back. He may be able to get an appointment with a nurse so fingers crossed.@ladyholly there’s a walk in centre in the city centre we could get a taxi to if need be. The nearest A&E is miles away. I was close to calling an ambulance this morning when he couldn’t get up but they often take hours to arrive.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

How about a call to 111 if you get no joy with the surgery?
