We ended up going to the local park a bit further away. The dog enjoyed walking through the very long grass, it seems our local council did no mow May and are carrying it on into June 😬
I spent £2.98 on a tomato and pak Choi plant from the park’s nursery. They grow all their own plants, mainly for the council but also sell surplus to the public. There was an open air Zumba class in the park which was nice to see.Did some gardening this afternoon and happily spent a fair bit of time reading in my hanging chair. I didn’t get a lot of indoor stuff done, the weather was too nice. The mushroom stroganoff was really nice, I did add chickpeas to it to bulk it out as suggested by someone on the live cook along. Mushrooms cook away to nothing. The shower curtain idea was something I poached from social media. It looks really effective so £10 on Amazon well spent.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Love the shower curtain idea. Looks really good. I also like the sound of the mushroom stroganoff. The lack of motivation must be hard to live with for yourself and Mr S.January spends - £587.585

Would Mr S_A use a portable dvd player? The House Troll had one for in the car when he was small and we bought one for my great nephew last year for the same reason. There's usually loads of older films in the dvd section of charity shops. The late Mr C said I was rewarding the HT for being naughty but he was away at sea a lot and there was a serious chance of me leaving our precious only son at the side of the road at some point...7

That shower curtain is great! You can bring your holiday to your garden.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Also found out at the garden centre/nursery that the plant that loves my garden a bit too much is called alchemilla. It’s everywhere, definitely didn’t plant it so must be a gift from the birds. Can’t believe they were selling it. The woman in the shop said you can divide it, no thanks because it’s already everywhere 😆
Still miffed about not having poppies in my garden because they’re growing out of cracks in the pavements locally but won’t grow in my garden, I even sowed seeds but nothing happened - I want poppies 🙁I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -

I’ve had problems with lily of the valley. A friend gave me a clump about 2 years ago and this year it’s just gone ballistic all over my garden. When I posted on a gardening group on fb for any tips on how to manage it, it seems a lot of people can’t grow this lily in their gardens and ended up, asking me for tips on how to grow it.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.005
