Enjoyed Hocus Pocus, I never get tired of it.
So far although the trick or treaters are out in full force they’re not coming to our house but have been next door 🤷♀️ Maybe because we don’t have a pumpkin in the window. There was someone dressed as a giant chicken what the…🤣If no one knocks I’ll put some sweets in the food bank box at work and save some for the GKs.
Mr SA grabbed a bag of sweets and stuffed them in his mouth. His crown promptly fell out - the one that was replaced with a more expensive one because it kept falling out 😐 He was going to put it in the bin! It’s not broken so made him put it in a food bag and I’ll try to get him a dentist appointment next week. He’s been a pain with the pestering today and has added blue crocs and a watch to his must have list. Reminded him he’s got a drawer full of watches he never wears. His response was none of them work. These are the same watches I get new batteries put in every so often then they get stuffed in a drawer until the batteries run out. So frustrating 😖
Christmas and birthday cards ordered from 😗 🐟 and I’ll get a free Christmas shopping list pad. Added a pack of £1.50 gift tags to get free shipping as it worked out cheaper.
And I’ve just had several trick or treaters arrive so looks like the sweets will go.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪6 -
Would it help if Mr SA had something like this on the dressing table or a chest of drawers in the bedroom? Then the watches wouldn’t be hidden away and he’d have a daily choice of which to wear, whilst the batteries are still working!

@KajiKita's suggestion is much nicer than mine which was tell him to sell them to afford a new watch

@KajiKita that’s a great idea and would remind him he has plenty of watches so no need for another.
One of his watches is an expensive one he treated himself to when his mum’s estate was sorted. He never wears it.
He drives me mad, constantly scrolling on his phone for things he thinks he needs 😞

It's a weird rule now but trick or treaters only call if you have Halloween decorations up. Although I had a five year old and 3 year old out in the driveway flagging them down lol.

That constant scrolling for things sounds like he’s groping for dopamine hits. I wonder if there is any other way he could get that … ? 🤔

Thanks for the nudge on WF, I've just bought my cards too 😊

How can it be November already!
I’ve had a really busy day, just about done now.
Put together the new bread bin. I’m really pleased with it and it frees up a lot of space on the kitchen worktop.
Took the dog on the park and did a litter pick. It wasn’t as bad as I’d expected. However I did find a brand new large Yankee Candle stuffed in a hedge bizarrely 🤷♀️ I was trying really hard not to drop it and temporarily abandoned the litter pick so I could protect my treasure. Somehow it slipped out of my hand and the glass smashed 😞 The candle was fine so I’ve brought that home and put it in an empty candle jar. Who on earth would stuff an unused candle jar in a hedge, very strange.Did some gardening after lunch while Mr SA slept. I gave the grass its last cut until next year, filled the garden waste bin and swept the paths. I also finally got round to planting the two heathers I bought from Lid! a couple of weeks ago.
Ordered a camping stove, camping kettle and camping toast maker. Begrudgingly but best to be prepared just in case. We already have loads of gas cans from when we had the weed burner.
We only had a handful of Trick or Treaters last night so loads of sweets left.
When Mr SA took the dog out this afternoon I vacuumed and mopped the whole house.
Made a batch of tomato, harissa and butterbean soup for work lunches.
Tonight’s dinner is aubergine curry. Bought two huge aubergines for 69p each from Mr T yesterday.
Today’s exercise has been dog walking, gardening and general pottering. I’m going to do a short yoga session shortly before I have a bath.
Another fairly busy month ahead: 2 regular savers maturing, a day out with friends, lunch with friends, hair, nails and the JL Christmas tree event.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪6
