    Afternoon all, happy Monday.

Worked in the office this morning WFH this afternoon.

When I was walking to work this morning a young bloke started chatting to me and asked me where I was going. His English wasn’t good and I couldn’t catch all he said. He asked me which way I was walking so I went in the opposite direction to him as he was making me feel slightly uncomfortable. He was asking far too many questions for my liking. I thought no way am I walking down a side street on my own with him so I did a detour which meant I stayed on the main road. He may well have been harmless but you never know.

Mr SA met me at Lid! on the way home as I wanted to pick up a few heavier bits. Some of the shelves were empty in places, mainly the things I wanted to buy and had money off coupons for 😖

Monday finance check done. CC was £0 so nothing to clear. Plenty pending though.

The YBS Christmas Saver has matured so I’ve closed the easy access saver it transferred to and asked for the money to be sent to the current account. I think I’m going to divide the proceeds between emergency and retirement funds.

The window cleaner has been so he’s been paid.

It’s been a lovely sunny day albeit cold and windy so I’m glad I pegged the washing out before I went to work. Any decent drying day is a bonus this time of year.

Today’s exercise has been walking to/from work, strength training and yoga later.

    Tonight’s dinner is stir fry.

I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping) -.literally have been run over by a bike, mobility scooter and a car - still here 💪

Wise desicion there I think. I would have done the same. There are some dodgy people around . Do you have a panic alarm? You should have said..." I'm on my way to meet my brother/ husband/boss/son etc" . Or " I'm on my way to my martial arts class". That might have put him off.

Definitely a good decision to keep to the busier streets - the man could well have been totally innocent and just lonely wanting a chat - but you never know.
I like the idea of Mr SA having his watches on display…might help him remember exactly what he has.
Has his accident put him off riding his scooter at all ?

Well done on sorting you new hours out…..bet your on the countdown. It’ll pass before you know it…..are you taking holidays before you reduce your hours - might as well get full time holiday pay rather than part time.
I love the smell of new carpets…..I can’t wait until we’ve had the builders in and we can get new ones…..the previous owners had a lovely dog…..but I can’t still smell him on the carpets even though I’ve used bicarb and hired a carpet cleaner.

    January spends - £587.58
  • Amazing news on the working hours reduction ☺️. Do you have some annual leave you could take to break up the 10 weeks and help the countdown?

Your home life doesn’t sound very restful, I hope the new hours enable you to have more rest and time for yourself…
