@Brewerspride @amber03 🤣🤣 Goodness knows how he managed it! I think he's been making up for it ever since 😆

Afternoon all.
That's the two worst days of the week (in my opinion) done almost. I love it when I head home on Tuesdays knowing I don't have to go back to the office until Friday. I still have to work, obviously, but no trekking out in the cold, wet and dark for two whole days - bliss!
Worked in the office until lunchtime then came home for the afternoon shift.
In money news all the regular savers have now been fed and it's been NSD2 of February. I still need to move some more of the sinking funds pots to the better interest YBS easy access account, I don't know why I'm dragging my heels about this as it's super simple to move the money across. Anyway it's still on my to do list.
Well I feel officially ancient as 0ct0pus have contacted me saying I've been added to their Priority Services Register. No I don't need help with understanding my bills or large print! Made me feel about 90!
Today's exercise has been walking to/from work, a short FitOn yoga session and live resistance bands tonight.
Housework wise I've got a pile of ironing to do and I'm going to give the bedroom a quick clean.
Tonight's dinner is leftover roast carrot dhal from Sunday. Nice to think I haven't got to faff about much with cooking tonight. Mr SA always has baked potatoes on Tuesdays so an easy dinner for him too.

We often have a jacket potato night, too. It's so easy & great for using up single portions of things in the freezer….though my current fave topping is cottage cheese, coleslaw & sliced avocado so not much freezer-emptying there!
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!3 -
Glad you are over your worst 2 working days.
How do you do your jackets pots. I tried them in the SC but they didn't bake?

Stab them with a fork, microwave them until they’re starting to soften a bit then finish them off in the air fryer for 10 minutes or so to crisp up the skins. They turn out perfect.

Morning all, happy hump day. Another week flying by.
WFH today, I still get up at the same time so had a lovely relaxing start to the day.
Mr M delivery arrived at 6.30 so that's all put away.
Live morning yoga session done at 7.30. I'm doing a strength training session from FitOn at lunchtime and it's live Zumba tonight. I've signed up to a FitOn challenge 10 workouts from the app during the month, should easily be able to smash that as there's so much choice on there - and all free with no ads. Also dog walking later this morning.
This week's decluttering challenge is to sort out my cupboard stocks and write everything down. I did this some time ago but didn't keep the list updated. This will have to be done in stages over the next few days as there's stuff in several cupboards. The aim is to have sorted and listed everything by the end of this weekend.
Mid-week finance check done and cc balance cleared. An oddment of £2.53 has gone to the Christmas pot. I moved some more of the sinking funds over to the YBS savings account last night so that's the majority of them moved to a better interest rate now.
Just realised this month is the first month completely free of a mortgage repayment 😁
DD is at work today so I intend to take advantage of being able to get in the kitchen and give it a good clean. I'll take an extended lunch break and get it done when Mr SA has his siesta.
Trying another new recipe for tonight's dinner Sweet Potato and Peanut Butter Stew from the PON Slow Cooker book. It's more or less a variation of something I've made several times before but with slightly different ingredients. I can put everything in the slow cooker later and it'll be ready to eat when I've done my Zumba class.

Ohh I like that all the ingredients can go in the SC. The sort of thing that would work with houseguests for minimal fuss. I might try it. Also, I don't have a MW which may be why my JPs did not work…
Well done on your first mortgage free month!!!

Instead of cleaning the kitchen at lunchtime I decided to make a start on sorting out the store cupboards. I moved all the kitchen gadgets from a cupboard in the kitchen to a shelf in the dining room cupboard. The dining room cupboard was housing a stock of store cupboard items so these have now been moved to the kitchen. I made a list of everything as I put it in there. So this cupboard now houses tinned/packet foods. How much rice when it's only me eats it! It's fair to say I won't have to buy any for a very long time.
So that's one cupboard sorted. Next up is the cooking ingredients cupboard. It will be a job well done when it's finished as I'll know what I've got in stock and use the lists to plan my meals accordingly.
When we took the dog on the park this morning I also did a litter pick and some council workmen turned up. They thanked me and insisted on dropping off a box of blue plastic sacks at my house tomorrow despite me saying I rarely fill a bag because I litter pick 4/5 times a week. I had to bite my tongue as they said I save them a job by doing the litter picking. They never used to litter pick - that's why I started doing it!! Yesterday they cut the hedges and trimmed them down so much that it revealed several cans and bottles amongst the branches. They were still there today! Wouldn't you think they'd remove them at the same time.

I think @Greying_Pilgrim does her JPs in the SC successfully!
