I don't tend to eat batter anyway - just the inside of the fish and then the heavenly chips - although I can't have the latter from a chippy currently. I therefore wouldn't mind a warm mars bar - as others said with ice cream but would want to skip the batter.
Hope you get answers on the cat. £400!! That's painful.

We've always fancied trying them, but have never seen anywhere that does them, hence trying them yesterday. Whether it just wasn't done well or anything, but I didn't like it at all. I also ate an easter egg yesterday, so was doing well!beanielou said:Ooh I used to love a battered mars bar. Not had one in years.I have just eaten an Easter egg.
Thank you, I hope so too. There is definitely a lot going round at the moment, but it's definitely improved today.Sun_Addict said:I hope your cat’s tests come back ok🤞
Sorry to hear you’re not feeling great, there seem to be a lot of bugs going round at the moment. Hope it passes off.Deep fried mars bars 😲 not surprised you didn’t enjoy it 🤢
It was far too greasy for me sadly.
It's a mystery of life isn't it. We've all been to slimming clubs where people eat rubbish all week and lose weight, so the science is obviously thereWinterWarrior said:I always imagined a battered Mars bar would work with icecream. I can’t understand why you can’t lose weight. I have the same mystery as a takeaway korma and sides fell into my face tonight 😖
Linkedin does seem much too networky…next they’ll be making us stand up and introduce ourselves (shudder). I’d love to connect, now I need to work out how to message on here 😅
I hope your cat is ok.
I have the problem with saying what I've achieved, I have images of people who know me looking at it and thinking what a load of twaddle
It's why I also try and avoid internal interviews if I can where I know the people I am being interviewed by. I should get over it!CRANKY40 said:I've never had a deep fried Mars bar, I'm so jealous. I've never fancied a deep fried pizza though which was the other item that seemed to be discussed by my friends around the same time.
I had chicken kebab for dinner last night because the HT was paying. I had half last night and the other half of it tonight. We have to order a bit of doner meat for the cat too. She thinks she's human and cat food is just about the lowest priority on her list. Your poor cat looks like she'll be needing an antibiotic jab then....the last time ours had one of those she'd been fighting with her sister and she had an infected scratch on her leg. I hope your furry supervisor is ok.
I'm no fan of pizza, so deep fried pizza doesn't appeal. My cat is the opposite, if she is offered human food, she looks at you like you are trying to poison her. The vet did mention she'd probably get some antibiotics anyway, hopefully there's nothing too major otherwise.

I love batter generally, not so much the chips. A warm mars bar with icecream sounds more appealing.savingholmes said:I don't tend to eat batter anyway - just the inside of the fish and then the heavenly chips - although I can't have the latter from a chippy currently. Thank you, I hope the cat is ok, and the rest of the week is less eventful!
It's so expensive isn't it. I paid more to have it done in house as the external lab they use is down at the moment, though I probably would have paid anyway as I wouldn't want to have to wait a week for the results.dawnybabes said:Our cat needed bloods recently and was £350, she’s insured and they deducted £13 as the lab fee was more than they’d pay .,…. The mars bar was definitely something I won't be repeating. Glad I finally tried it though!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
I knew someone who made Mars bar rice crispy buns for parties and those were excellent. The deep frying must have made it hold on to the grease 😣Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

My awful scratchy throat has mostly gone today thankfully, just leaving the cough, so I'm feeling much better.
We can't really do anything today until I hear back from the vets, so I've told the kids we need to go for a walk and get some fresh air. Little jwil decided he'd rather go on his own, so he's gone off himself already! Little miss wants to go litter picking.
It's a bit brighter and milder this morning so I've opened up the back doors and all the windows to air the house. I hate it when everything is closed up.
Today's food aims to be much better than yesterday. I took stuff out of the freezer for DH yesterday, so will have to use that and do something separate for me. Not sure what yet.
Breakfast - big fruit salad - strawberrries, raspberries, blueberries, plum, grapes, nectarine, kiwi and a sprinkle of seeds with yoghurt.
Lunch - ham and mushroom pearl barley 'risotto'
Dinner - probably salmon and salad."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -

Back from our litter pick. People are disgusting. I've managed to put a good proportion of it in our recycling which is due today anyway."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5
