Just caught up with several pages of posts - you are doing great.  I hope you get the information about your job and that things settle down there.  However, you have achieved so much and come so far that I am absolutely confident that you will be able to deal with whatever comes next.  You should go back and read all of your diary again from the beginning - you'll be totally inspired.

Happy birthday. I hope you have a fantastic day 🎉🎉🥂🎉 also boo to the anxiety its such a horrible thing to suffer with both  myself and my DDs suffer to degrees but mines not as bad as it was when I first joined MSE. I remember I was an anxious wreck back then but it's calmed down now. DD1 had CBT to treat hers and then found that the hypnotherapy training she did for when she had the DGS also helped a lot. DD2 is a social anxiety and is ongoing but she is doing ok. It's weird because she works in a very stressful job dealing with patents and their families at a time when they aren't at their best and she get shouted at daily but it doesn't phase her. She has rovmzke multiple phone calls a day to different agencies and relatives but if she has to phone someone to come and repair something in her flat she is really anxious. She doesn't like having strangers in her flat doing work. She also struggles on social occasions but has forced heslf to join in and it's getting easier.
Thank you :)  Anxiety is horrible, mine has definitely been worse in the past but it's been lurking again since DH had his accident which triggered it this time.  I've got a couple of CBT books, one which focuses on health anxiety which mine often manifests as.  They are really helpful if I work my way through them properly and focus on the exercises.  I also have a little social anxiety and find having people in very stressful.  It's probably part of the reason I keep putting off getting the work done in the house!

Thank you :)  I ought to read back on this diary, but moreso on some of my old ones when I was really struggling.  I think it would remind me how far I've come.

I've had a lovely day.  We went to Exmouth for a bit, and then stopped in Ikea on the way back.  I've got my rug, and I got some birthday money which will contribute to it, so it won't have cost me much at all.  I've also got a nice few books to work my way through :)

My knee has been playing up again recently, and I hurt it again in Ikea today, so I've just re-read the info the dr gave me when I went to see them before.  It's been triggering my anxiety a bit, wondering if it's going to 'go' at some point, and I won't be able to get home.  I have reassured myself that I am overreacting, as the symptoms in my info sheet exactly match mine.  I need to carry on being active and I probably need to have another go at some of the other strengthening exercises they gave me.

One of the good things about the new tv is that there's a health app on there with a load of shortish exercise videos.  I'm going to try and make the effort to do some, as I won't have to try and find a spot for the laptop or phone to watch everything, and it's easier on a bigger screen.

I'm also trying to decide what my next 'small step' will be for my health.  I'm thinking about trying to give up bread as it doesn't make me feel great.  I'll probably have a push on that after easter.  I'm eating far too much of it at the moment, but I do love a hot cross bun from the bakery!  After easter they'll be gone again, so it will be much easier :D

  • I need to give up bread too. I have done before and it wasn’t too hard, but then it crept in again! For me it’s anything yeasty that seems to bloat me, so wraps were a brilliant substitute. Almost bread, but not quite!
What is your lovely new rug like? And what books did you go for? I’m glad you had a good day.
