Happy Thursday!
I've been catching up on a bit of admin, and packed and posted 2 parcels today. We've also had a flurry of bids on the kids stuff so that's good and hopefully some more will be going soon.
I've also done the first sift of little miss's clothing, removing anything obviously too small, damaged or stained. I'll sit and go through the rest with her to see if there's anything she doesn't like and wants to get rid of. Then I'll do the same with little jwil's clothes.
DH has taken the kids into town for an hour or so so I have a bit of time to myself. We were going to go swimming today but it was fully booked for today and tomorrow, so I've booked us in for Sunday instead. Little miss has her lesson tonight anyway.
I had to send several items back out of my shopping today due to either damage, weird substitutions or incredibly short dates! A bit frustrating really. I'm not one for following dates to the letter but it was fresh chicken and would be several days out of date by the time I wanted to use it so that was a risk too far for me."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Oh !!!!!!. I've just broken our tv trying to plug a new fire stick into it. It's come off the stand. It looks like it's snapped so I don't think it can be fixed, but it's too heavy for me to lift on my own and see. I've had to put a cushion under the screen until DH comes home. It's almost 20 years old, so hasn't done bad, but it's an expense I'd rather not have right now!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Oh no I hope it's fixable 🤞🤞Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942

Thank you both
Unfortunately it's not fixable. It had completely sheared off! We found one person selling the stand online, but it was collection only and the other side of the country, so we couldn't get that. The picture on the tv has had a shadow around the edges for years too, so we decided to suck it up and get a new one.
So £355 later (including a new extension lead), we have a new smart tv, ironically negating the need for the fire stick which caused me to break the previous one! I've spent the afternoon setting it up, and it's quite nice actually. Much lighter than the previous one. DH thinks I've taken the decluttering too far but I reminded him that it's not really decluttering if you are replacing it! (though I'll probably add it to the list anyway)
We took the old tv to the tip on the way to collect the new one. I've put it on my cc as there is still 17 months of 0% purchases left. It means I don't have to dip into the savings yet. Which might be a good thing as when I went under the sink to get a duster, everything was wet! So we need to see what's happened there."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Happy new TV

Sorry about your TV but at least the shadow is no more. We have been putting off getting a new one for ages as it keeps turning itself off and then on again.
