Hi jwil I've just finished reading your diary and I am amazed at your pads. I'm going to give it a go and have just paid £5 into my savings. I've also finally set up the banking app on my phone and set up the round up feature 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942

I’m so pleased to read your job is sounding more secure. I’m also doing a job that’s normally done a grade higher 😐 I do enjoy it though and that’s a bonus. PADs are fantastic as always.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Like you Jwil I would do the more interesting work - and fight for pay later when it's likely to be successful. I've always got the recognition in the end or used the experience to apply for a better job.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hey @jwil have just caught up from last year. Wow you’re doing so well on your PAD!! You really are an inspiration! Well done to the little Jwils for their school report. I’m sorry your knee is playing up again, but super well done on keeping up with the walking!

I'm always amazed at how the PADs add up. I don't tend to notice the small amounts, and then if I get some extra, as long as I fire it off quickly, I don't miss it. Well done on your PAD and setting up the round up feature - it's surprising how that can add up as well
It's surprising how many of us are working above our grade! It's always good when work is interesting and enjoyable though, that's priceless.Sun_Addict said:I’m so pleased to read your job is sounding more secure. My 'actual jd is about assisting with stuff, and it was quite boring before. Our previous MD gave me a lot more freedom and asked me to lead on a lot more stuff, so it's much more interesting and I get more autonomy on how I do things. If my work even just keeps me in a job for now I'll be happy and will worry about everything else later.savingholmes said:Like you Jwil I would do the more interesting work - and fight for pay later when it's likely to be successful. It's frustrating about the knee, but even though it's playing up, it's still better than it was before, so I guess that's something. "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
Today's job is little miss's room. I've pulled out all of her clothes and brought them down to wash and sort. I cannot believe how much there is! Over two big trolley bags full. I'm sure it breeds up there!
She's sorting through her toys and has gone up with a couple of bags to put anything she doesn't want in. She wants to 'design' her own room, but there's no point in doing anything until she's properly decluttered anything she doesn't want.
Little jwil is going to sort through his stuff as well, but I'll leave his clothes until I've recovered from little miss's
DH is doing some sorting again, so all is good there. I've got some listing to do as well. DH is going to take little jwil round the block on his bike, and we'll probably go over to the closed car park later to give little miss a chance to have a go at riding her bike again if the weather holds out.
Have a good day everyone!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee6
