Yes definitely. Its early days but I think I can make it a habit.Hi @jwil.Great the eating windows are working. Always great when some something you try works out or shows promise. It’s a good starting point for sure.L x"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2 -

Well done on the PAD.
On the pension - they are considering bringing the age of changing it to 69 forward as well - and feel they have a right to review these things up to 10 years before people take it which is ridiculous given you can early retire 10 years before and a change of the final date would change all your sums. It is things like this that put younger people off pensions. I am much more enthusiastic about pensions now I'm within touching distance of them.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thank you. I was aware that my pension date could change. That is ridiculous though if they think 10 years is acceptable for making changes, it doesn't give a lot of time to prepare and adjust plans. I know I will have to make my final decision closer to the time, and I expect it will involve part time working rather than full retirement, but I shall still make a good effort to go in 9 years!savingholmes said:Well done on the PAD.

Good PADs @jwil. I know you’ve mentioned previously but are they for overpayment of the mortgage or some other purpose. It’s fantastic how the amount can build up.L x2

At the moment they are still going to the mortgage but soon I am going to switch them to savings instead. I've been saying that for a while though

Another week done! I've had a fairly quiet day today. We had decided we were going to get little jwil a phone for his birthday as he's off to secondary school this year, so I ordered one yesterday, it arrived today and is being sent straight back. It's an old model and a refurb, so I bought it early so we could test the battery and check it was working properly. This came up with a battery warning, and was less than the promised 80% so I'm not keeping it. There was a no quibble 21 day return window anyway, so I've asked for a replacement, and hopefully we'll get a better one. I've spent some time today looking up how to set up appropriate parental controls so at least I'm ready for when it does arrive.
A water main broke nearby so the whole area has been without water for much of the day. Ours wasn't out too long thankfully.
I was cleaning the bathroom (before I realised there was an issue) and discovered that the toilet is leaking. I think it's just a seal so hopefully we can sort it. I'd initially thought that it was DH or little jwil with poor aim, but the little puddle returned after I had wiped it this morning, and I was the only one home! Although the bathroom needs doing, I want to wait a little longer to build up the savings a bit more.
I've continued with the walking and the eating windows, and have been eating well as well, with at least 5-10 portions of F&V each day. I'm very pleased with my progress there, and starting to feel better for it as well.
