Great progress on lots of fronts, hope you can see that?  Well done 👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you :)  I never see progress, so the end of year summaries are really useful, plus keeping track of what's happening monthly.  I'd forgotten that last year the kids were still sharing a room and we got rid of a car this year 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️  Thanks to @savingholmes for reminding me :D

Back to work and school today - joy!  My work laptop is whirring away with updates, so I'm not opening too much as it will probably want a restart, so nipping on here while I'm waiting for it to finish

At the moment, I have only one meeting booked in this week, so if it stays that way I should be able to get stuck in.

My ambitions to walk more are being tested as it's chucking it down this morning.  I might still do so, but will see how bad it is when we are due to leave.

I need to update my spending tracker later as the DDs have all come out today.  I want to be good about doing it daily so it doesn't become onerous if I have to go back through a month of transactions.

Today I plan on making a big pot of soup and hopefully that will be good for settling my ibs.

Have a good day everyone :)

  • I am back at work today as well albeit at home and only one day. My DGC aren't back to school until Monday but DD is at home this week. I want to up my walking again this year , it has slackened off in the latter part of the year due to all the rain.

Your PAD total for 2023 was brilliant , well done. Glad you enjoyed your tradition of the seaside  New Years Day.

Good luck today. Feel good about yourself regardless of whether you walk in the rain - I'm told it can boost your immune system to walk in all weathers but not something I've tested often. Personally I think first day back I'd prefer to be dry.

Thank you :)  One day working is nice, I thought I had it good with only 3 :D  Good luck with upping the walking.

I did walk in the end, and today as well :)  It's ok when wfh as I can always get changed.  I'm less enamoured with walking in the rain if I'm in the office.

Great progress already this year.  All those small actions add up.  I have started walking just to the end of the road and back.  I feel a bit ridiculous to be honest but I know, for me, the habit is more important than the distance and once the habit is happening every day I can gradually increase the fitness aspect.
Having said that, I am challenged when it is foul weather 🤣.
I think celebrate every small thing you do that is making a positive difference- you do so much and it all adds up.  As was said earlier, look what you achieved last year 😁.

Thank you :)  I agree that it's more important to build the habit than it is to do a lot.  So walking to the end of the road and back is a great start.  It's easier to build on something you already do than to create a new habit from nothing.  It's definitely harder when the weather is bad though!
