Aww thank youbeanielou said:If only you were nearer I have a heated airer you could have had.Reminds me must go & see what’s dry.
I'm actually quite impressed with the heater. It really has made a difference to the comfort of the house, and warms it up quite quickly. The cat seems to have improved again a bit, so maybe the cold was getting to her. Christmas cat has perked up a bit again today and has nicked the tinsel to make her own festive bed

They are so funny. She's not a 'human' cat, she's never sat on any of us! She always has 'bed of the month', which will be her favoured spot for a while, then she'll switch it out. Otherwise she likes to untuck the curtains from behind the radiator in the living room, and sit on them (whilst letting all our heat out) on top of the radiator. She's very put out about the fact that the radiator is never warm at the moment. She does love a bit of tinsel though and has had a lot of fun pulling it off the main tree.

Only 4 days left at work, and only 2 (hopefully) to a new boiler! I can never get too excited until they are actually here.
Although I've got a lot of meetings booked in this week, they are mostly ones I can listen in to rather than actively participate, so not a huge amount of pressure there and I can carry on with other stuff while keeping an ear open. I'm on a mission to clear as much of my to do list as possible.
It's almost the end of the flexi period and I'm at the top of my allowed amount, so I shall try and take either a longer lunch break or finish earlier to help finish getting ready for the new boiler. DH helped little miss tidy her room yesterday (and that was the biggest job) and all the other radiators have had everything removed from around them so that they are accessible, so it's just making sure everything is clean and tidy. It's a good motivator for me to do a lot of the little jobs that I regularly put off, so it will make me feel better once it's done and won't be hanging over me over Christmas!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I've been up early tidying around before starting work. Upstairs is mostly tidy and clear, and I've hoovered through. Just got to clean the bathroom now but that will be later. I tidied the kitchen yesterday so just need to mop the floor. I do need to move the Christmas decoration boxes, and the packaging boxes from under the stairs so there is access to the fuse box. Then a bit of tidying downstairs and hoover through there.
I got up for the loo at 4am this morning, and somehow slit my foot open on some broken glass in our bedroom. I had to get DH up to help me dress it as I couldn't really see it on the bottom of my foot and at that point had no idea what on earth I had stood on. It did freak me out a bit with the amount of blood! I'm not sure what happened, as the item that was broken normally sits on the window sill and it was the other side of the room. I can only assume that it had got tangled in with a load of bags I moved yesterday and has dropped out at some point and broken. I must have been very lucky as I'd walked through that point several times last night in bare feet. We've picked up all the broken bits and I've hoovered thoroughly there as well so hopefully we've got it all.
My poor feet are suffering at the moment! I've got a blister on the back of my other foot from where I wore some boots last week which I hadn't worn for years. On the other foot also I've got a cut where I accidentally stood on one of the Christmas tree branches the other day when I was setting it up! I think the moral of the story is no more bare foot around the house for me for a while until everything has healed."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
